Fun Video from Freestyle Skier Billy Mann
Hello all! On february 5th, I was unfortunate enough to tear my shoulder three days before leaving to compete in the last stop of Dew Tour. On the plus side, I am on a quick road to recovery, and I was able to skin up to the top of Donner Peak. The snow was amazing and soft, and I learned that day that a quick hot wax can prevent the residue of the adhesive from slowing you down. Given the chance, I will be doing many more hiking trips in the near future!
Here's the link to the video. Enjoy!

Thanks Coach! I've been coming off of an injury recently so I have not been able to hit jumps yet. Today I sat with the coach on the side of the last jump and watched everyone hike the 3 jump line in Stowe's terrain park. I never really thought about how much work coaches do until I saw things through his perspective. As every kid in the ski club would drop in and hit the last jump he would pull out his camera and film for potential edits or review. Everyone would hike back up eagerly to see what advice he had to offer or to ask if they could try a new trick. The coach's responses would vary from explaining how to do a rodeo 5 (making sure the young skier can visualize the trick in their head perfectly and boost their confidence) to making them lay on the ground to practice grabs. He was also always occupied with the camera or talking to someone. I had little to comment on the process so I just observed. By the end of the day everyone had a smile on their face and was more and more eager for the next of skiing. Thanks Coach! Mount Mansfield Ski Club Freestyle Skier |
