Glide Waxing for Cold Conditions

Simplicity is good, but not when it comes at the expense of accuracy. It seems to me that when the mercury sinks, skiers just apply the hardest wax they can find and expect the best. I have found though that in very cold conditions discrepancies in people's skis are often huge, despite how "simple" everything seems. Read on to learn how, why, and what to glide wax in cold conditions.

Product Highlight

Dibloc HF Paste

Dibloc HF Paste is the perfect product for the skier who wants fast skis, but doesn't want to take a lot of time to prepare them.  To apply, break the seal.  Squeeze the paste onto the ski and spead with the applicator.  As soon as that is finished, take some paper towel and wipe/polish it leaving a shiny base.  You don't need much of this for a durable and fast wax job.  Note - on the packaging, it says that it "dries in two minutes".  Do not let it dry, but follow the above instructions for superb results.  Underlaying layers of ironed on wax are not necessary.  Dibloc HF Paste can be found at your favorite ski shop for just $20.  One tube ought to provide about 30 applications.  A proper application takes about 30 seconds per ski.
