OXO International designs ergonomic kitchen tools intended for comfort and performance. In 1990, the company was founded on consumer-focused philosophies. Since then, they have continued to create innovative culinary tools that are universally designed for the gourmet as well as the casual cook. OXO enlisted Infographics� to develop a user-friendly Quick Start Guide to accompany their V-Blade Mandoline Slicer. The guide was created to facilitate the kind of positive consumer experience synonymous with the OXO brand.

- Demonstrate safe assembly, usage, and cleaning of the product.

Infographics� Solution
|
Prior to development of the Quick Start Guide, one of our Illustration Design Specialists attended a local retailer's class demonstrating proper usage of the OXO V-Blade Mandoline. By watching other participants, he determined where specific usage explanation was needed. He also took the slicer home and used it in real life applications (cooking dinner for his wife).- Leveraging OXO's engineering CAD data, Infographics created custom visuals of the slicer and its components.
- An "includes" section identified all 13 pieces.
- Step-by-step visual graphics showed safe blade assembly, removal, and storage.
- Separate usage sections clearly demonstrated how to julienne, dice, straight and crinkle cut fruits and vegetables.

Results |
- The OXO V-Blade Mandoline Slicer was named Editor's Pick in "Vegetarian Times" magazine. The article also made mention of the slicer's easy-to-use Quick Start Guide to Slicing.
- OXO was pleased with the results and has continued to use Infographics� as a source for visual communications for other kitchen and organizational products
