From Pastor Jim | |
Dear Friends,
I hope everyone is enjoying their summers. The start of the school year is rapidly approaching. As tradition, we will be praying for the teachers and school employees this Sunday in worship to arm them with our support and the strength of the Holy Spirit. We will also pray for all students next Sunday, August 12th.
Before summer comes to a close, join us this Friday at 9PM for our FIPC Family Drive in Movie! We will be watching the movie, "Courageous," and I personally vouch it is a movie every family should see. Be sure to check out the details below, and invite someone new!
God is GOOD! ALL the time! Your pastor and friend... Jim Weldon

This Weeks Funnies
|
A couple of young boys were fishing at their special pond off the beaten track. All of a sudden, the game warden jumped out of the bushes. Immediately, one of the boys threw his rod down and started running through the woods like a bat out of a cave. The game warden was hot on his heels.
After about a half mile, the young man stopped and stooped over with his hands on his thighs to catch his breath, so the game warden finally caught up to him.
"Let's see yer fishin' license, boy!" the warden gasped.
With that, the boy pulled out his wallet and gave the game warden a valid fishing license.
"Well, son," said the game warden, "you must be about as dumb as a box of rocks! You don't have to run from me if you have a valid license!"
"Yes, sir," replied the young guy, "but my friend back there, well, he don't have one."
________________________________ A one dollar bill met a 20 dollar bill and said, "Hey, where've you been? I haven't seen you around here much." The twenty answered, "I've been hanging out at the casinos, went on a cruise and did the rounds of the ship, back to the United States for awhile, went to a couple of baseball games, to the mall, that kind of stuff. How about you?" The one dollar bill said, "You know, same old stuff, church, church, church." __________________________________ A woman was having a medical problem - her husband snoring. So she called the doctor one morning, and asked him if there was anything he could do to relieve her "suffering." "Well, there is one operation I can perform that will cure your husband, but it is really rather expensive. It will cost $1000 down, and payments of $450 for 24 months, plus payments for extras." "My goodness!" the woman exclaimed, "sounds like leasing a new sports car!" "Humm," the doctor murmured, "too obvious, huh?" ____________________________ "Being from the 50's I guess I'm too used to full sized cars. I mean my lil' Mazda is a nice car and all, but it's just too small. Take the glove compartment for example, all I can get in there is two fingers and a thumb. I did get a whale of a bargain though when I bought that Mazda. The dealer threw in the carrying case for nothing."
