We open the pain chapter of Energy Medicine (Chapter 10) with a quote from Marcel Proust: "Illness is the most heeded of doctors: to goodness and wisdom we only make promises; we obey pain." When people are in pain, few agendas are more pressing than to try to relieve it, and the appreciative feedback we have received over the years for Chapter 10 of Energy Medicine, often from people who have never taken a class, has been poignant and heartwarming. This issue of the e-letter opens with a case where nerve damage following a tooth extraction was excruciating and other pain relief remedies were not possible.
From reading the Energy Medicine book, to watching our videos, to taking a short course, to attending our widely-admired Certification Program, training in Energy Medicine is available at all levels and for a wide variety of personal needs and situations. In October, we are introducing a new month-long residential format for professionals as well as laypersons who want to dive into an intensive Energy Medicine training program. While most people won't be able to take a month out of their lives to immerse themselves in this way, those who can will be met with a profound experience. See more below. Also in this issue, read about a new FREE teleseminar series on "Spirituality in Healing" and, in this month's "Energy Tip," learn a way to overcome an allergy to a new pet.
As summer heads into its final month, we send you our love and blessings,
Donna and David
Energy Medicine Used for Relief from Severe Pain
Eden Energy Medicine (EEM) was instrumental in helping to alleviate severe pain caused by nerve damage during a tooth extraction. The EEM intervention came at a time when other medical remedies were prohibited due to pregnancy. It offered the benefit of pain relief without being invasive or disruptive.
Jennifer, a woman in her early thirties, suffered severe nerve damage from a routine tooth extraction, and was in constant pain. Jennifer was scheduled to have surgery to repair the damaged nerve with a graft, and came to see Amy Frisina, an Eden Energy Medicine Advanced Practitioner (EEM-AP) in Tucson, Arizona, to prepare for the surgery. New Opportunity to Dive Headfirst into Energy Medicine
Helping people integrate the techniques of Energy Medicine into personal and professional care is Donna's dream and passion. That's one of the reasons she and senior staff members developed the Eden Energy Medicine Certification Program (EEMCP). And to make it easy for people to learn the basics of EEM, the first year of the CP, the Foundations Year, is offered in dozens of locations across the US, Canada, and Europe.
And now, a new residential format, offered through Omega Institute in Upstate New York, will condense the classwork from the Foundations Year of the CP into four intensive, glorious weeks in October. This will allow a select group of people to springboard themselves into Eden Energy Medicine. And all of the back-home supervision and support of the regular Foundations Year format will still be available following the month-long immersion. Here are the details.
If you choose to attend this highly interactive month-long training, you learn practical energy techniques and methods; gain a better understanding of the body's natural self-healing capacity; and bring more vitality, joy, and spirit into your life. You also learn how to share these gifts with others, both personally and professionally.
Topics to be covered through class lectures, engaging discussions, and experiential hands-on work include:
- Apply specific energy techniques to boost energy levels and strengthen the immune system
- Test for and remove energy blocks
- Explore the chakras, five elements, and energy testing for health
- Employ techniques to reduce stress and alleviate pain
- Work with meridian energy to balance the body
- Understand EEM therapeutic protocols
- Utilize EEM techniques and exercises to help you and your clients achieve more resiliency and health
Included in this month-long training is a weekend workshop with Donna and David, and a rare special appearance by both of them in the month-long training, itself. And while the hands-on portion of this training will be taught as a one-month intensive on Omega's campus, optional monthly at-home supervision via Skype, email, or telephone is also available at no additional cost for students interested in continuing on to the second year of study in the EEM Certification Program. We are very excited by this new venture and invite you to learn more about it by clicking here.
Allergy to a New Pet
If you start with symptoms of allergies and asthma after getting a new puppy or other pet, besides working with Triple Warmer and the Neurolymphatic points, here are some other tips you can try:
- Massage your cheekbones with deep pressure, moving from the inside of your face (near nose) to the outside. Then, tap the cheekbones.
- When symptoms are severe and asthma-like, you may need to strengthen Triple Warmer instead of sedating it.
- And sometimes, sedating Stomach meridian will help Spleen break down the allergen and relieve sinus congestion.
A more complex, but often powerful, strategy is to tap the ends of each meridian for about 15 seconds each while you are in contact with the dog or cat hair. Breathe deeply. Notice if this helps you feel better.

Spirituality in Healing Teleseminar
Energy Medicine sessions often touch into the world of spirit. A teleseminar series called "Spirituality in Healing
" will address this relationship head-on, and we expect it to be excellent. Among the speakers:
- Ram Dass, PhD
- Caroline Myss (who wrote the Foreword to Donna's book, Energy Medicine)
- Joan Borysenko, PhD
- Rachel Naomi Remen, MD
- Stephen and Ondrea Levine
- Larry Dossey, MD
It is sponsored by our good friends at the National Institute for the Clinical Application of Behavioral Medicine (NICABM). We know most of the presenters, and they are extraordinary people. We have admired Joan since she published her groundbreaking Minding the Body; Mending in the Mind
and have immensely enjoyed getting to know her in recent years. Ram Dass and Stephen Levine each endorsed David's book Rituals for Living and Dying
, and we've taken extended workshops with Ram Dass and Stephen and Ondrea, with lovely interactions with each of them. Larry Dossey has been a light in complimentary healing for decades and has been very kind to us. It is a wonderful line-up.
We are happy to recommend this series to you. It is geared toward the healing professional, and it will address ways we can help our clients wrestle with their deepest questions of meaning to find courage, wisdom, and peace of mind -- even in the midst of difficult times.
The weekly broadcasts are completely free of charge - you just have to sign up.
If you want to get the videos, audios, and transcript downloads, and CE credits, you can become a Gold Member
. Gold Members also get exclusive access to four more bonus sessions, including a webinar with Bernie Siegel, MD.
We invite you to check it out.
