|
Greetings!
Merry Christmas! The Board and staff of the Alabama Turfgrass Association would like to wish you and your family a wonderful holiday season.
ATA will start 2010 with a bang; hitting the road with our popular Turfgrass Road Show Seminars. We're heading to Loxley and Birmingham in January then Montgomery, Dothan and Huntsville in February. We hope to see you at one on these seminars. Registration is open and brochures will be mailed next week. Details on how to register on-line is listed below.
The Green Industry Economic Impact Study is available now! You can obtain a copy on-line or contact our office for a hard-copy. The study compares our 2003 results with the findings of this 2007 survery. Despite the legendary drought, the green industry grew to $2.9 billion (up 51.7%) in 2007.
Thanks to the talented folks at Leading Edge Communications (our magazine publisher), you can now get back issues of Turf Times and view the current issue on-line. Visit our website and check out this new feature!
ATA is now on Facebook. If you are following this social media trend, check us out and become a fan!

| Census of Horticultural Specialties Are in the Mail
Sod production is a major part of this census; be sure to return it by Feb. 5th.
The 2009 census of horticultural specialties is a 10-year survey that provides complete, consistent data on floriculture, nursery and speciality crop production (Turfgrass sod) in the United States. The surveys have been mailed by the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service (NASS) and include questions such as the number and types of establishments, value of sales, varieties of products and many others. Respondents are guaranteed by law that their information is confidential. Information will only be published in tabulated totals. As with the Census of Agriculture, the Census of Horticulture is your voice, your future and your responsibility. Complete it today and return it by the February 5th deadline. |
