Member e-newsletter February 2009
Greetings!

The next couple of weeks will be full of activity for the members of the Alabama Turfgrass Association.  The fourth Turfgrass Road Show Seminar will be Tuesday, February 11th, at the Grand Hotel in Pt.Clear/Fairhope.  Thursday, February 12th, ATA will hold a press conference at the 2009 New Beginnings site, Gulf Coast Youth-Reach facility in Summerdale.  And ATA will host a Sod Producers Field Day on Saturday, February 14th, at the Weorner Turf Farm in Bon Secour.  The last and final Turfgrass Road Show will be next Wednesday, February 18th, in Huntsville.

If you need pesticide re-certification points, be sure to register for a Road Show Seminar.  If you would like to see sod equipment in action, come out to the Field Day.  If you would like to volunteer for the New Beginnings Project, contact the ATA office.

All ATA members are encouraged to attend the press conference on Thursday.  The New Beginning Project, which is a new endeavor of ATA, was designed to use our talents, services and products to benefit a charitable organization.  Gulf Coast Youth-Reach is an organization that fosters children in Baldwin county.  This facility, which opened in December, has a field that ATA members will convert into a multi-purpose sports field for the children to enjoy.  Look for more details soon!

Lastly, we would like to thank our newest Annual Sponsor, Southern States.  Welcome aboard!
