Greetings!
Ambassadors act as representatives of their home country or organization, and live in the country in which they serve. They are responsible for understanding the culture in which they live as an ambassador, but they must always work to keep the best interests of their home country in mind.

Ambassadors also gather facts and report back to their home country. As true liaisons, they must balance serving as diplomats within the host country and gathering and reporting information.

In scripture, Christ-followers are referred to as "ambassadors for Christ." This issue's feature, Urgent Ambassador's Briefing, outlines a Christ-follower's rights and responsibilities during our tour of duty on earth -- helping to clarify how a Christ-follower's life on earth parallels that of an ambassador living in a foreign country.

CLEARING THE HURDLES:
Overcoming Leadership Challenges
Every "group" we live with and work in - whether it's a family, church, club, or business - has its own culture. Organizational culture can be grown or destroyed by how we lead it.

But leaders can learn how to build a God-inspired culture and successfully meet the challenging hurdles that they encounter.

hurdlesThey face three common hurdles: growth, change, and teamwork.

During May's Spiritually Healthy Leader workshop, Clearing the Hurdles, you'll learn how people and organizations can support their growth and prevent premature death.

You'll also discover how to counteract negative reactions to change, encourage new ideas, and build a team DNA that stimulates group health.

The workshops are not closed small groups; registration is OPEN.

Best of all, the series is flexible. You can select one or all or a combination throughout 2012.

Consider bringing your ministry team to the Clearing the Hurdles workshop on May 10.

We are therefore Christ's ambassadors, as though God were making his appeal through us.

Prayer Points

  • Why do I tend to think of my influence here on earth as a Christian as lowly rather than esteemed?
  • From what might I need immunity as I conduct the King's work on earth?
  • How does looking at heaven as my true home change how I view my time on earth?
What People Are Saying ...
We are currently missionaries in Costa Rica planting a church in a vibrant section of San Jos. We are among five universities, many language schools and businesses, including two malls. Before leaving for the field we attended Spiritually Healthy Leaders. We found it to be extremely valuable for our ministry and have invited Dalton and Vicki to lead the training in Costa Rica. We knew even before we left the U.S. that it would be something needed here, and as we start the task of raising up servants within the church for leadership, we are confident that the material presented in Spiritual Healthy Leaders would be a great asset to our equipping process. We are currently training potential leaders, and we believe that SHL will help us place them in their God-given call.
