In 2010, there were 900 reported cases of NH children that were either abused or neglected by their primary caregiver. Within those 900 children 25% were under the age of 3. By the end of 2010 there were 2000 cases of potential child abuse victims that were interviewed by child advocacy centers. Even one child is too many!
The year 2012 marks a new era of our drive to significantly reduce the number of infants and toddlers who are victims of child abuse and neglect.
Our board and staff are implementing evidence-based strategies proven to reduce the likelihood of child abuse and neglect. Programs we will be focusing on include:
- Period of PURPLE Crying, abusive head trauma prevention program;
- Healthy Families America, home visiting program; and
- Strengthening Families Protective Factors Framework.
To see the full impact of these strategies statewide we need to raise an additional $230,000.
With you we will create a New Hampshire where all children thrive in nurturing homes, caring neighborhoods and strong communities; free from violence, harm and exploitation. Our children need you.
We count on your financial support. Please mail your tax deductible donation to the Children's Trust; visit us on line and click on DONATE or just click on the Donate Now button on the left sidebar.
Thank you for doing your part to keep children safe and families strong.
