| Dear Friends: |

As you may know, Karen Carpenter is fully retiring from her position as the Executive Director of the NH Children's Trust Fund on April 13. We are grateful for her years of service and leadership to the children and families of New Hampshire.
A group representing current and past NH Children's Trust Fund Board members, staff and partners first met last October to form the Executive Director Search Committee. We would like to inform you of the results of our committee's work.
The Committee members, all dedicated to the mission of the NH Children's Trust Fund, immediately began developing a search process, timetable, job description, criteria. The NHCTF Board subcontracted with a consultant to ensure that our perceptions of what the new executive director should be matched the current needs and future plans of the Board. She interviewed representatives from the Trust Fund's major constituencies and drafted a comprehensive job description. Just before the Christmas holidays the open position was announced on the NHCTF website and posted on area job websites. An e-mail announcement was sent to our grantees and partners asking them to also help spread the news and talk to people they thought would make a good executive director. Over the next few weeks the Search Committee reviewed over ninety applications and sent a personal response to each one. The search was narrowed to six people who were invited to first interviews. Four were interviewed a second time by the Search Committee and the Board of Trustees. Our new Executive Director, Keryn Bernard-Kriegl, has the energy, prevention background, management skills, and experience that we believe will drive the Children's Trust Fund into the future to further the mission of keeping children safe and families strong. The Search Committee was delighted to offer Keryn the position. We would like to thank the Search Committee members for all their time, energy, and thoughtfulness as we compressed a very intense search into a very short timeframe. Thank you Gail Barba, Bernie Bluhm, Lucy Breed, Representative Anne Grassie, Diane Hastings, Kristina Ickes, Eileen Mullen, Mike Ostrowski, and Malcolm Smith.
Please join us in welcoming Keryn Bernard-Kriegl to the NH Children's Trust Fund. We look forward to further building our relationship with you, our partners in strengthening families. Sincerely,
Lynne Merrill Chair, Executive Director Transition Committee
