Greetings!
That's right friends -- it's Spring Break time. Okay, so perhaps you will not be tanning your fine behind in Aruba this year -- that doesn't mean we're not going to break out the little mini umbrellas and start pouring some fruity cocktails right here in North Cacalacki. Enough of winter, enough plush fleece pile. No more Uggs (which by the way may be smelling a little ugg by now). We've had to become pioneers this winter: enduring snow, sleet, Tiger in rehab, ice and rain... It has been Survivor: Winston-Salem. But now it's over. Goodbye nasty winter, we're getting our swim trunks and string bikinis out. We may put tequila on tap.
Great month ahead
Obviously a fantastic month ahead for sports fans with the ACC Tournament which starts, well, today! And yes, we will be having our Third Annual Bracket Contest, which we will send to you Monday morning. On Tuesday nights (in addition to $2 Tuesdays for Kids) we're starting Tuesday Night Wine Flights (2-ounce tasting pours around $2+). We'll also be celebrating St.Patrick's day on Wednesday, March 17 with beer so dark and thick you may have to cut it with a fork before you try to drink it. We'll also have our Springfest Seafood Weekend followed by NCAA Tournament on March 16. Basketball, basketball and then more basketball. Ahhh, life is good.
Thank you to our fabulous Queen Ellen and to all that made it a fantastic Mardi Gras The Mardi Gras party for Make-A-Wish was a blast and Ellen C. you were an incredible Queen. Nicole DuCoeur herself came and sat at the Queen's table with her sweetheart and you know she has to get up at 4:00 am. Now that is commitment and we thank you. It's true we do get a little star struck here at the DB. George Clooney, you come back now you hear.
Thank you to everyone for your incredible kindness As many of you know our wonderful bartender Jason Davis was in a terrible car accident and we are happy to report that he is on the mend and doing well. Phillip tells us just how much he has appreciated all your e-mails, notes and gifts. If you would like to send a note to Jason, his address is: 255 Betsy Drive, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. Thank you again, wonderful Diamondback family.
Warm wishes to you (say about 65 degrees)
Enjoy the spring and come see your buddies at the Diamondback.
-- Kimberly and Murphy

Enter our Third Annual Diamondback Bracket Contest!
Brackets will be available for downloading on Sunday, March 14.
Yes, it's our 3rd Annual Diamondback NCAA Bracket Contest. In our first three years, the Jimbo G. family has stood out as clear leaders. Will they be at the top this year or will some dark horse come from behind to grab the glory???
We'll be sending out our official bracket on Monday through out regular e-mail. Here's what to do with it: a. Fill it out with your picks for the winners. b. Drop your bracket form by the Diamondback. c. The bartenders will keep all entries and give us updates on who is winning. In case of a tie, we will have a skills test to see who knows the most. All Diamondback officials can make up as many rules as they want. They can also have no rules, which is how it usually plays out. The winner simply picks the most winners. This is not exactly brain surgery. Carolina fans who are disgruntled about Carolina's efforts thus far will just have to get over that in order to participate in the bracket contest and no we will not be having an N.I.T. bracket contest.
Good luck everyone.

St. Patty's Day at the Diamondback Wednesday, March 17 Special Menu Black & Tans Irish Whiskey
Join us for a lucky night at the Diamondback as we celebrate St. Patty's Day drinking Guiness, good irish whiskey and enjoying a traditional Irish feast. Murphy's mom used to love to make traditional St. Patrick's Day food so it's our Diamondback tradition to serve the real stuff, with seriously dark beer.* Our Menu will include:
*Traditional Corned Beef Brisket Cooked in Guinness and brown sugar *Butter Steamed Cabbage *New Potatoes and Carrots with lemon, chive butter
Hope you'll join us for a very fun night. *Please note that we do serve dark beer for St. Pattys' day, but we do not serve green beer. Why? Well, green beer is nasty. Also, we're in a bad economy and it's tough to get a promotion if you show up at your office with green lips and a green tongue the day after St. Patrick's Day. So you come on over and have an authentic Irish celebration right here at the DB.

For those who don't drink wine and prefer our collection of "dirt cheap beer in a can" well, perhaps these particular events are not for you. *Our legal department would want us to insert her that you shouldn't come drink 15 flights of wine and attempt to drive home. So you wine lovers just walk on over, okay.

NCAA TOURNAMENT
Opening Round Tuesday, March 16 Final Four - April 3-5 Lucas Oil Stadium, Indianapolis
Well, this certainly could be a different NCAA Tournament than we're used to (do note that we've added lots of light blue into this e-mail just for luck) but you know, it's all okay. Hope you'll join us this month for lots of basketball action and it should be an incredibly exciting tournament because, well, pretty much anyone could win it. We'll have incredible game food, big tvs at every angle so you don't have to overly rotate your head and a great crowd. Make the Diamondback your spot for basketball this month. Our professional bartenders will be on duty at all times.

Don't forget: We Proudly Serve Krankies Coffee at the Diamondback Krankies roasts our delicious Diamondback blend for us. Try a cup after dinner and stay for awhile. A nice, hot cup of Krankies coffee can sometimes make you feel, well, a little less cranky.
