Greetings!
Yeeee ha! Summertime is on its way. The kids are getting out of school. Moms are scrounging around for one of the 10,000 bottles of sunscreen they bought last year. Fresh, organic produce is pouring in. It's soft shell crab season, lightning bugs are out and fun summer nights are ahead. There's just so much to be excited about, which leads us to our 6 Reasons to join us in June:
ONE: We've turned Father's Day into a 2-day Extravaganza. First up: Father's Day Eve Party (Saturday, June 14th). Sure we invented it, but we think Dads just need another night to celebrate. And the day after: sleep in and get set for a fantastic Father's Day Dinner on Sunday. This is the place where the Fun Dads want to be. Maybe it's because we'll be offering specials on thick, juicy Filet Mignon, live Maine lobster or because we have a bunch of really big tvs. Bring the whole family.
TWO: Our Wine and Gourmet Tapas Series gives you a chance to have fun and learn something while you're at it. Join us for our June Event "A Midsummer Night's Grill" (June 26th). We'll be offering delicious, grilled summer food paired with light wines from our fabulous new Wine List.
THREE: CRABONDANZA Seafood Celebration (June 21st) The longest day of the year -- and what a delicious way to spend it. CRABONDANZA is our summer crabfest. We'll be offering a menu full of fresh seafood and the tastes of summer: sun ripened tomatoes, corn on the cobb, new potatoes with melted butter and more. Make plans to join us for a fun night that requires lots of extra napkins.
FOUR: Gazpacho is in the house. This is truly a Diamondback specialty and we only make it when we can make it fresh.
FIVE: We offer kids free "Sundaes on Sunday" so you won't have to chase down the ice cream man in his truck playing his weird music.
SIX: You don't own a little place in Harbour Island where you munch on conch fritters and sip Goombay Punch all night. Okay, so what. We're the next best thing.
Thanks to all of you who stopped in last month. We loved having so many of our favorite Moms in for Mother's Day. Several of you e-mailed us to say how much you enjoyed the special menu (not to mention the complimentary cocktails.) Well, you Moms deserve it.
We also enjoyed seeing so many of you for the premiere of _____ and the City. Now we can't put down that word because this e-mail would end up in 12,000 spam boxes. But we thank everyone who showed up late night for Cosmos (especially those of you who are usually in bed at 9:30 pm.) It was a great night.
For all those who are packing the car and heading out on I-40 as fast as you can come see your buddies at the Diamondback when you get home. We'll have a spicy crab cake and a cold glass of white wine waiting for you. Plus you can call for curb-side pick-up on your way back from vacation (since the only thing that's going to be good in your fridge will be the ketchup.)
Thanks and we hope to see all you very soon!

Also going on in JUNE
1. New Wine List - we wanted to expand our wine menu to offer everyone a larger variety of wines. Come take a look and try a mini wine tasting. We now have 45 wines by the glass for you to choose from. We also serve a larger glass of wine than most folks. Ours is a 7.5 ounce pour which you won't find in many other restaurants. Click here to download a pdf of our new list.
2. Diamondback Gift Certificates - It's true -- teacher's love getting Diamondback gift certificates. And the best news is we'll put it in our cute box for free. Just e-mail Kimberly at kmwgregg@triad.rr.com to tell her how many gift certificates you need. With a $25.00 gift certificate and your favorite teacher can come in for a huge salad with a choice of 65 different ingredients plus a big glass of Chardonnay. It's the perfect gift for a job well done.
3. Our Big Lucky Winner of the Month: Our lucky winner of the month is Anne N. (not to be confused with Anne M. who won last month) who will receive a $25.00 Diamondback Gift Certificate. Apparently if your name is Anne you need to put your name in our pot. Congratulations, Anne.
4. Fresh Produce. Healthy Cuts of Meat. The produce that's coming in from Minglewood Farm looks incredible. In fact, we try to use locally grown sources for produce as often as we can this time of year. The Diamondback also uses high grades of beef and all natural Chicken from Ashley Farms.
5. Off the Wall This month we're featuring artists Sherry Paylor, Alice Bess and Caroline Sanders from Associated Arts. From Art Affair we have Ellen Christian, Sally Corpening, Frank Rowland, Kay Hutchinson and Dee Beard Dean. We are proud to display the work of these talented artists. Please take a minute to check them out.
6. Christmas in June. Scary we know! But we're already booking parties through the holidays. If your business wants to have a holiday party (at your place or ours) that feels like a holiday from the same old boring event -- then head on over to the Diamondback! To download the Diamondback Party Pack, Click here.
7. Meat-free can eat with Glee. The Diamondback's Summer Menu has gazpacho, big tasty salads, pasta dishes, meat-free tapas special, organic milk for kids and more. Perfect for folks who wouldn't eat that juicy filet mignon for anything in the world.
8. Take out and Special Orders Want to pick up dinner in your pajamas? Fine with us! Just order your dinner 722-0006 and we'll have it ready in about 20 minutes. Just pull up in the designated space on the side and we'll bring it out to your car. You can always come inside in your pajamas too, but our bartenders will think you've already been overserved. You can also order your favorite summer items for parties at home. Gazpacho, Family Size Make-Your-Own-Salads, Homemade Pies and all of your other favorite Diamondback dishes are available. Just give us a call today.
9. Coming in late June: wild Alaskan Copper River Salmon This is the world famous salmon from the pristine waters of Alaska -- vibrant orange in color -- very limited availability. But luckily enough you don't have to go to Alaska to get it -- you can head right over to the DB. Copper River salmon is very rich in Omega 3s. If you've never tried this, make plans to come for dinner. |
Happy Summer everyone and we can't wait to see you at the Diamondback! -- Kimberly and Murphy
