It's a wonderful life. Sure you may have to unravel 12,000 strands of little tiny white lights that are now in a giant heap. And yes, one eensy little bulb might go out and you may end up pulling your hair out and having some serious well, marital strife. But no worries. You'll get that 14' Fraser Fur crammed up against the 8 1/2' ceiling...a little to the left.. no, now right... just where your precious beloved wants it to be.
 Which is why we're making a space for you at the DB. December is the best time of the year to head to the Diamondback. Come put your backside up to the toasty fireplace. Don't worry about finding the pink Nintendo DS with the matching carrying case and returning all those Aqua Dots. Just enjoy a little Van Morrison. Fresh seafood. Tasty tapas. Maybe a little double chocolate ultra moist cake paired with an Irish Coffee that will make you forget that scene at the mall -- of course you deserved that last package of Moon Sand!
Shop for the Holidays (and watch basketball at the same time). It's true. Just let us know how many gift certificates you need -- for teachers, coaches, friends, neighbors, employees, etc. and we can get them ready for you while you watch ESPN on 5 mega tvs. Read below where you can now just fax in your gift certificate order and we'll have it ready when you arrive. We can also help you plan your next party, make reservations to entertain your quirky relatives who are showing up a week and even make your dinner and have it ready for curb-side take out. You can't do all that at Hanes Mall, honey.

What people like most about the holidays is getting together with friends. And seeing which friends have become respectable citizens since those days at Reynolds or Summit or FCDS when they... well, we'll let you fill in the blanks.

 WARM UP EXERCISES FOR THE HOLIDAYS
All winter we'll be serving all sorts of delicious hot toddies designed to put you in a holiday mood. Try an Irish coffee. We serve ours with piping hot coffee, a shot of Irish Whiskey and a dollop of whipped cream. We even shave a little belgian chocolate on top. Drambuie is also popular this time of year along with a smooth, delicious Kaluah and Cream. We also have hot buttered rum, egg nog and for chocolate lovers -- a chocolate martini. (Okay so that's technically not hot but it may put you in the holiday spirit).
 CHOCOLATE KISSES FOR KIDDIESBring the kids in for a hot chocolate with a heaping helping of little marshmallows on top. Perfect for a night out with parents or grandparents. The trick is it takes a long time to eat all these mini marshmallows. Just about long enough for you to well, eat your dinner.
Is it too cold to walk to the Diamondback? Why no. Put some Gortex on those children and get them out into the cold. And let's face it -- if you're a neighbor and you want to come drink some hot buttered rum, you're better off leaving your Prius charging in the driveway. |
 December is an incredible month for sports and we certainly don't need to tell you that. Bring some buddies in with you and enjoy yourself.

Also going on in DECEMBER
1. Curb-side Take Out There may be times in the next couple of weeks that 5:00 o'clock rolls around and you realize you have basically nothing for dinner. Just download a curb-side takeout menu and give us a ring. We'll make a healthy, delicious dinner that's fast but certainly not fast food.
 2. Art to go. Maybe someone would like a beautiful painting for Christmas. Come check out the gorgeous pieces of art now on display by artists Kay Hutchison and Anna Hamilton.
Kay is represented by Art Affair, a new business venture by Anna Ball Hodge, Liz Davis and Nancy Grantham. Kay's work will be on view through January 31st, 2008.
Anna Hamilton is represented by Associated Artists here in Winston-Salem.
3. Winter at the Wine Bar The Diamondback offers 45 wines by the glass so you can experiment a bit. We also offer wines simply to taste. Bring a friend and try something new with choices from our special scrumptuous tapas menu. If you're not sure what to order, our bartenders can certainly help.
 4. Our big e-mail winner of the month December's winner of the month is Allison C. Allison will receive a gift certificate just for giving us her e-mail address. In addition to eating a delicious, gourment meal for free -- she'll get this delightful e-mail each month.
5. Bring your computer and shop by the fire. Relax and go on-line with a cold beer in hand. We offer free wireless internet connections. No, we can't guarantee you'll be able to secure the Bright Blue North Face Saber Insulated Jacket that your 13 year old tells you is his lifelong dream. But a delicious dinner -- no problem.
6. Wine Consultation with Murphy Need a great bottle of wine for Christmas but not sure what to buy? Call Murphy for a wine consultation. Murphy not only worked for Christies in London appraising rare wines -- he has also been buying wine for the restaurant for nearly 20 years. 336-722-0006.
7. Get ready for our first Wine and Tapas Night of the Year -- Thursday, January 31st. Mark your calendar and make plans to join us for the first of our 2008 Wine and Tapas Event Series.
