Greetings!
It could be 90 degrees the rest of October, but so what. We're gearing up for sweater weather and nice nights by the cozy fireplace in the sports bar. October is the perfect month for great food, fun, football, watching the Red Sox win the playoffs... Okay so that might be a little wishful thinking.
This month we're celebrating the sweet life. And it's true, we are known for our homemade brownies and pies: tasty bourbon pecan, tart and tangy key lime and luscious pumpkin cheesecake.
And speaking of pumpkin pies: did you know pumpkin pie is an aphrodisiac for men? Listen you can't make things like this up. And we don't know if it's true but we figured we'd put this big picture right up front here just in case-- sort of a subliminal advertising kind of thing.
And continuing on this sweet theme, this month we'll also be introducing our $2.50 mini desserts that come in a shot glass. The perfect sweet bite after dinner.
 Great sports action this month (as if we had to tell you) We've got the Playoffs, the World Series, Wake games, Panther games and more coming up on a bunch of big high def TVs. Grab your buddies and come have some fun.
Rocktoberfest and our Rocktoberfest Wine, Beer & Tapas Event Rocktoberfest is our version of Oktoberfest. We'll be playing classic rock all month and celebrating beer, great food and some good fun. The Rocktoberfest Wine, Beer & Tapas event will feature a 7 course tasting menu and flights of wine (or beer!).
And yes, we'll be open for dinner on Halloween night. In fact, our staff is getting their costumes ready. So please do put us on your walking path. We'll have candy available for Darth Vader & Hannah Montanah and chardonnay & single malt scotch for all you wonderful Moms and Dads.

OCTOBER
All month--Rocktoberfest -- A Celebration of Great Music and Beer Sure we celebrate beer every night of the year -- but this month we'll be making a party of it.
More on that below.
October 11th (Thursday) -- Football -- Wake Forest vs. Florida State Time: 7:30 pm Stop by and bring your buddies in for drinks and a divine tailgate dinner at the Diamondback before the game. Honey you just can't make a 12 ounce ribeye steak with a mushroom reduction sauce in the back of a car!
October 14th (Sunday) -- Football -- Panthers vs. Arizona Game Time 4:05 pm Panthers fans we'll see you for game time and a delicious dinner at the Diamondback. Stay for drinks and bring your friends.
October 25th (Thursday) -- Wine, Beer and Tapas Event-- "Rocktoberfest" -- 6:30 pm Make reservations today for a night celebrating wine, beer and tiny tapas bites packed with flavor. Our Wine & Tapas events are some of our most popular nights of the year and it's always packed with fun people. Come be with us!
October 27th - (Saturday) -- Football -- Wake Forest vs. Carolina -- Wake Forest Parents Weekend Time: TBA Now this should be fun. We're not sure what time the game will be but we always look forward to this match-up.
 October 31st (Wednesday) -- Halloween Night -- The Diamondback welcomes all ghosts, goblins, vampires and other spooky types for a Halloween night to remember. We'll have candy for the kiddies and more importantly drink specials for adults. So when you realize the scariest part about Halloween is how much candy your kids have eaten, drop on in for a delicious, healthy dinner with the whole family.

 Join us for the Rocktoberfest Wine, Beer and Tapas Event at the Diamondback Grill. We'll be offering a divine 7 course tapas sampler with wine and beer tastings. We'll have great music and great fun. Come for a night to remember!
Murphy will with be us to talk about the different wines and beers that we're tasting. This is always a night about bringing good friends and coming home with some new ones. One important note -- These events have been incredibly popular. Please make your reservations before Friday, October 19th. $41.95 per person plus tax and gratuity.
 NOTES FROM OUR AUGUST "Fall into Fall" EVENT: We had a fantastic time at our "Fall into Fall" wine night. We started with a Westside White (2005) with a fall vegetable risotto cake and vine ripened tomato aioli with fig vinegar and kept going from there. And everyone loved the wine we offered called "Luna Freak Out" (2006) that we served with Oysters Rockefeller with Truffled Creme Fraiche. It was a great night for us and our tastebuds.

 1. If there was ever a month to walk to the DB -- this is it. It's amazing how simple it can be. If you're a neighbor just walk right out the door and into ours. Come after work. Come after soccer practice. Come when there's nothing in the fridge and you want a salad with 65 choices of ingredients!
2. Tasty Tapas nightly. Just us at the Wine Bar for an after work cocktail and choose your favorite from 45 wines by the glass. We offer scrumptous tapas nightly -- perfect when you don't want a big dinner. We're here 7 nights a week. Bring a buddy and catch up.

 8. Breast Cancer Awareness month In honor of breast cancer awareness month, the Diamondback will make a contribution to the Susan G. Komen foundation. We send our love out to everyone who is fighting breast cancer.
8. October is a great month for oysters and they're starting to come in. Look for nightly specials featuring seasonal oysters and enjoy! We love fresh oysters paired with one of our wines by the glass or even a Rocktoberfest ice cold beer. Come make a night of it.
9. Bread for the Journey Every Wednesday night the Diamondback caters a dinner for Centenary United Methodist Church. It's for their program called "Bread for the Journey". If you're a member and want a fabulous dinner -- head on over!
