Greetings!
Football is back baby. And we're ready for some action. Sure, we've love the relaxed pace of summer -- kicking back with Phil's 10 Cane Mojitos and eating peel & eat shrimp -- but nothing beats fall sports and catching up with friends.
Sports Night -- Every Night
Wake has 3 home games in September so we're gearing up for that. We also have the Panthers, the Red Sox, Wake Forest Soccer, golf, lacrosse and more -- plus lots of federal investigations of sports celebs to sort through.
Back-to-School Party (for parents worn out by all that summer fun) The kids are back in school and we're celebrating (and hoping they all get in Harvard one day). Why not plan a date night out while your little scholars are wading through fractions and nuclear physics this fall. You deserve it.
Salad Craze: Exciting news: our new "Create-Your-Own-Salad" may go into the Diamondback Hall of Fame as one of our most popular introductions ever. In fact, we just ran out of salad order forms in just 2 weeks. If you haven't tried one, well, come right on in.

What's happening in
 September 2nd (Monday) -- Labor Day-- CLOSED. Yes, our hard working staff is going to be kicking back and eating some bons bons to get ready for the rest of September. We'll see you on the 3rd.
September 8th (Saturday) -- Football -- Wake Forest vs. Nebraska (at home). Game starts at noon. We'll be opening at 4:00 so come on over for some cold ones after the game.
September 15th (Saturday) - Football -- Wake Forest vs. Army (Homecoming) Game starts at 3:30 pm. Come for dinner with the family afterwards-- and bring friends. We're having a little homecoming party of our own! Drink and dinner specials.
 September 22nd (Saturday) -- Football -- Wake Forest vs. Maryland (at home) Time TBA Come on over with your family and friends -- we're planning a little indoor tailgate party of our own. Dinner and drink specials.
September 23rd (Sunday) -- Football -- Panthers vs.Atlanta Game time 4:15 pm. Diamondback bar opens at 5 pm. Dinner from 5:30 - 10 pm.
September 27th (Thursday) -- Wine & Tapas Night -- "Fall into Fall" Welcome back your friends with a night celebrating fall flavors. Join us for the 4th night in our sell-out series. This will be a eight course tasting menu paired with some wonderful transitional wines. Note: This event has been incredibly popular -- make your reservations today!

 Thanks to you all we had over 50 people try our new "Create Your Own Salad" on the first night alone. And we've gotten rave reviews (maybe because we'll do exactly what you tell us to).
Chop Chop! We also hear people are falling in love with the PALM BEACHER CHOPPER. We'll dress your salad and chop it up into bite size delicious pieces so you can really taste the flavor. Or if you'd rather you can have no chopper and your dressing on the side.

 Our "Fall into Fall" Wine & Tapas event will feature a divinely delicious eight course tapas indoor picnic with a flight of fall wines. Come for a night to remember!
Murphy will be with us to talk about each of the wines we're tasting. With fall coming we'll be looking at fuller white wines and reds that accent fall flavors.
One important note -- These events have wildly popular. Please make your reservations before Thursday, August 23rd. $45.00 per person plus tax and gratuity.
 NOTES FROM OUR AUGUST "REIGN IN SPAIN" EVENT: You know we do love wine night. And this one was particularly fun. For the 3rd time in a row we had a sold out crowd of merry wine tasters. Many thanks to all of you who joined us for the night. To the right you'll see Murphy with Jeff Smith of Smitty's Notes and Jon Witherspoon, former editor of the Winston-Salem Journal. Okay so we're showing off a bit -- anyway it was loads of fun.

Sure, we also offer $1.00 Sundaes on Sundays but that's because we just like to have a little fun. Our kids' menu is also available for Curb-side Take Out which means you can have a delicious, healthy dinner to go when you get tired of going all day. 3. Tasty Tapas nightly. Join us at the Wine Bar for a nice glass of wine (choose your favorite of 45 wines by the glass). Pair one of them with our tapas specials (written on the chalk board on the other side of the big TV). We're here 7 nights a week. Bring a buddy and catch up. Walk on home and let Johnny Law give you a big smile no matter how many little 2 ounce tasting glasses you had.
 3. Curb-side Take Out Think of this as fast, easy, gourmet to go. With healthy kids choices and nice sturdy take-out packaging. 4. New Artists from Associated Artists -- Come check out some fantastic new artwork on the walls. We've fallen in love with the hot looking black and white in the wine bar -- it reminds us of James Dean.
 5. Not exactly Publisher's Clearing House. We're not exactly giving out $1,000,000 but we do have some very lucky folks who have been giving a $25.00 gift certificate just for putting their e-mail address into the hat. So congratulations to H.M., G&R S. and C.J. We won't give out their names because you'll want them to take you to dinner.
6. Flower Power. The beautiful flower arrangements that we've had in the wine bar were done by Marjorie Imus from Minglewood. Thank you, Marjorie. Minglewood Farm is also where we buy our organic produce that makes our salads taste so divine.
7. Wireless. Bring your laptop (and your appetite). The Diamondback is wireless and there's a comfortable spot at one of our tables or couches just waiting for you. And for those who could care less whether we're wireless or not, we do have a great collection of the latest magazines if you ever have to wait for your date. |
