Greetings!
It's been wild around here lately. We've been working on our new tapas menu, moving bars and planning lots of fun events for June. We've also added more organic, healthy items to our regular menu like Kobe Beef, Ashley Farms Organic Chicken, locally grown produce, organic milk for kids and more. If you haven't been in -- it's time to come check things out.
Of course, if you'd rather just come take out a gourmet dinner to go -- our new curb-side service is getting up and running.
Below you'll find news about all of the events going on at Diamondback this month -- as well as some juicy news about our visit from George Clooney and his buddies. They really were nice guys.
So make plans to come on over. If you're a neighbor, walk. Stay late -- you won't have to worry about driving. We want you to come kick back with us and have some fun.

WHAT'S HAPPENING THIS MONTH
Thursday, June 7th - Join us for Game #1 of the NBA playoffs. Grab some buddies and come watch on our 67" big kahuna TV.
Friday, June 8th - School's Out for the Summer -- yee ha! Bring the kids and celebrate! Alaskan Wild Salmon and Soft Shell Crabs are back and will be on special all through the weekend.
Saturday, June 16th - Father's Day Eve - Okay so we invented this holiday -- we think Dad's deserve a night of fun! Specials: Certified Angus Beef Filet Mignon - $21.95. Also: Lobsters! 1 1/3 pound live Maine Lobsters -- $24.95. Drink Specials: $2.00 beers and $4.00 drinks.
Sunday, June 17th - Father's Day Dinner and NBA Playoffs (Make reservations now -- we'll be serving dinner from 5:30 - 9:30 pm) Game time: 9:00 pm. (Moms let those good Dads stay!) (Also: print out the coupon on the bottom of this very long e-mail and get a free drink for Dad!) Specials: Gigantic BBQ Ribs and Peel & Eat Shrimp - $17.95. $2.00 beers and $4.00 drinks again!
Thursday, June 21st - First Day of Summer! Come as you are to our CRABONDANZA! If you're coming with the family after a swim meet -- pool attire is fine (cover-ups, flip flops, shorts, T-shirts all welcome!) Crabondanza specials: Soft Shell Crabs, Jumbo Crab Legs and Crabcakes with all the fixings -$21.95. Also: Shrimp Boil -- Peel & Eat Shrimp with Old Bay, Corn on the Cob and Potatoes -- $17.95. Thursday, June 28th - 8 Course Wine and Tapas Night with Murphy -- from 6:30 pm on. Come hungry (and thirsty) and join us for Wine Flights and the premiere of our new tapas menu! Reservations required -- please mention Wine Night when you call.
Every Sunday in June: $1.00 Sundaes on Sunday for Kids. Make it a flashlight night (see the kids section at the very bottom of e-mail for more info!).

JOIN MURPHY FOR WINE NIGHT -- "HOT TRENDS AND COOL SUMMER WINES"
Thursday, June 28th from 6:30 pm on-
Grab your friends and join us as Murphy hosts Wine Night. We'll be offering "wine flights" -- 2.5 ounces of 8 different wines so you can pick your summer favorites. We'll also be premiering our new tapas menu. In Spanish, "tapas" means small meal. We think you'll love these scrumptuous little bites that are simply packed with flavor. For Wine Night we'll be pairing wines that go with each of the 8 tapas selections. This night can be popular -- so reservations are required (don't forget to let our staffers know you're coming for Wine Night when you call.) $40.00 includes gratuity. Note: starting in July, we'll have our new tapas specials available daily.
NEWS ON THE NEW WINE BAR
This really is an exciting time for us. We've been moving things around a bit and we think the new wine bar should be fully up and running sometime in July. We're putting the finishing touches on our tapas menu (you can get a sneak peak at Wine Night). We'll have all the wines by the glass available and you'll actually be able to order dinner and eat at the bar. Think of it as the perfect spot for a relaxed date night. We've also making this area smoke free. More on this to come -- so stay tuned. |
 PICK UP DINNER IN YOUR PJs
Don't feel like cooking tonight? Fine with us -- now you can call and order in for curb-side take out. Give us about 30 minutes and we'll bring everything right out to your car. Perfect for when you just want to have dinner in the backyard, when you're heading back from the beach or just rolling in on Sunday night from a long weekend.
Here's what to do:
2. Call (336) 722-0006 to order. You will not receive a recording. In fact, you'll talk to a real live very nice Diamondback Grill staffer who will be glad to take your order.
3. Drive up into one of the first two parking spaces on the side of the Diamondback Grill (Spring Garden Street ).

| SPECIAL ORDERS: TAKE HOME YOUR FAVORITES! We have some customers that have a Diamondback dish they simply have to have.
If you have a favorite that you'd like to take home with you -- for a party or whatever else -- just give us at call at (336) 722-0006. Kimberly and Murphy ask that you try to call in advance to give the kitchen a couple of days to get your special order ready.
How did we get started with special orders? We once had one of our favorite customers wake up in the hospital and say the only thing she wanted was Key Lime Pie from the Diamondback. How could we refuse. You know Murphy's saying: "Just ask us, we just might do it".

 GEORGE CLOONEY IN THE HOUSE
It's true. George Clooney did show up at the Diamondback Grill last month. And naturally, we were glad to have him.
George and his production crew were in Winston-Salem shooting his new film "Leatherheads" with Renee Zellweger. Anyway, so Kimberly and Murphy were at home when they got the call that George Clooney and his buddies has just settled into the corner booth. Murphy's version is that before you know it Kimberly was slapping on high heels and heading for the door. Murphy, being Murphy, asked "Where are you going?" Please.
George and his crew reported that they were staying at "a castle" (Graylyn) and that Winston-Salem was "a fairy-tale". And what did they order? Kimberly reports that they all had the Buttermilk Fried Ashley Farms Organic Chicken. They must have liked it -- the producer came back 3 nights in a row. Photo from Wikipedia.

 32 PREMIUM WINES BY THE GLASS
Diamondback is known for it's incredibly broad selection of wines -- and more specifically -- wines by the glass. In fact, Diamondback offers 32 different wines by the glass. As Murphy says, "This lets customers pick wines that complement each course of the meal. This also removes the impossible pressure of selecting one perfect wine to please everyone." Bottom line: meat lovers can order the red they want, the seafood and pasta folks can have their favorite white.
HEFTY 7.5 OUNCE POUR
One other important note: you'll notice that when our wait staff fills up your glass of wine there's well, more wine. That's no accident. We serve a 7.5 ounce pour instead of a 5 ounce like some other restaurants. Now we're not going to go around measuring glasses, but we think our customers appreciate having a few extra sips.
SUGGESTED WINES - TRY THIS SOMETIME.
You'll notice on our menu that we pair every entree with a different wine. We actually spend a lot of time tasting wine and figuring out what we think will enhance the flavor of the meal (pretty good work if you can get it!:) ). So next time you come in, try the wine we've paired with your entree. We'd be interested to know what you think.

AND COINCIDENTALLY GOING ON THAT NIGHT... THE NBA FINALS (You Moms can really make Dad's night by letting him stay and watch the game with his buddies on the biggest TV in the neighborhood).

 FOUR REASONS TO BRING YOUR KIDS TO THE DIAMONDBACK
1. THEY CAN WRITE ALL OVER THE TABLE AND WE'LL BE THRILLED
Kids love drawing on our paper tablecloths (lots of adults do too). We'll provide the crayons so the kids can have fun - which means you will too.
2. GREAT KID'S MENU WITH FOOD THAT THEY'LL LOVE (AND YOU'LL LOVE TOO BECAUSE IT'S HEALTHY)
Kid's 12 and under love our children's menu. And actually parents love it too because we offer things you don't usually find on a kid's menu. Like grilled chicken breast, organic 2% milk, organic produce and lots of healthy side dishes.
Kimberly's secret: for really super picky kids you can ask for cut up apples with peanut butter. It's not on the menu but if we have it in the kitchen -- we'll be happy to serve it.
3. A BIG FISH TANK TO GO VISIT WHEN THEY GET BORED
Okay so it's not the National Aquarium, but kids do love going to visit our fish tank and we think it's okay for them to get up and take a little walk.
4. SWEET DEAL: $1.00 SUNDAES ON SUNDAY FOR KIDS
Bring the kids in for a treat this Sunday -- an utterly delicious Sundae with one scoop of ice cream (vanilla or Oreo cookie) with gummy bears, sprinkles and one unbelievably delicious homemade little Bavarian Chocolate Brownie on the side. Rainbow Sherbet is also available. Comes with the gummies, sprinkles and the BCB on the side of the plate. Kids get to create their own "designer" sundae exactly the way they want it. We find that all this creativity can take a while -- which means that you parents can actually finish your meal. A perfect way to spend Sunday night with the family.
FLASHLIGHT NIGHT - YOUR KIDS WILL LOVE THIS: pull out the flashlights and walk on over for a fun family dinner. Then walk home in the dark with the flashlights. We had one customer who came up with this idea and said their kids talked about it for weeks! |
