Gluten Free Baking Tuesday April 13, 2010 10:00AM - 1:00PM Taught by: Denise Rogers Cost: $5 Click here to register
Join us for a time of cooking and baking demonstrations, sampling, and lots of helpful information. Gluten free foods can be prepared fresh at home for less! Freshly milled gluten free (GF) flours contain all of the naturally occurring fiber and are much more nutritious than prepared bags of GF flour. The necessary ingredients and supplies are available here for your convenience. This class will help you gain the confidence and know how to begin making main dishes, 3-minute soups and gravies, your own gluten free breads, muffins, pie crusts, and more.
Along with GF grains, beans, and ingredients, the Zojirushi bread machine, Magic Mill (Electrolux) Mixer, and three of our cookbooks will be highlighted. You'll also have the opportunity to browse our store and sample some of the ready-to-eat GF foods that we carry. Don't miss this encouraging, informative gathering with folks who share your desire to eat well the gluten free way.

We just received a shipment of 10 inch and 8 inch Tortilla/Flat Bread Makers by Chef Pro. The 10 inch model sells for $69.99 and the 8 inch model sells for $49.99 To Market To Market Dip and Spice MixesThese are dip/spice mixes that are made with real dehydrated vegetables and spices and have absolutely no salt, no MSG or artificial anything. They come in a variety of flavor combinations and two package sizes. The 2 oz size is great for trying but once you have a favorite you will want the big 1 lb package. The more I use these, the more I love them!! The dip recipes are right on the label but we have learned to use the mixes for just about everything from meat rubs, to seasoning soups, rice medleys and vegetables, even with cream cheese spreads for icing and bagels. You name it you can use it!!! Spring time is almost here - time for cookouts and parties. Our favorite dips for crackers or veggies are Popeye's Passion, Garlic of Eatin and It's Greek to Me. Since there are no flavor enhancers or MSG be sure to make the day ahead to allow flavors to intensify. Roasted the Red Pepper Spread makes a great chicken rub especially when smoking the chicken in our Cameron Stove Top Smoker. Simply mix 2-3 Tablespoons of Roasted Red Pepper spice mix with about ¼ cup olive oil and rub on chicken breast or wings, lightly salting as you rub to coat the chicken pieces. Cook as desired. Smoking with either hickory or mesquite chips in the Stove Top Smoker is outstanding. Jack and the Bean Dip makes a nice hot bean dip prepared with our dehydrated refried beans. Jack and the Bean Mix is also great for seasoning soups and rice and beans, giving a Mexican flare. The dip recipe below was a hit at a recent party. |
Recipes
Jack and The Bean Cream Cheese Dip
1 8 oz block of cream cheese 2-3 Tablespoons Jack and the Bean Dip Mix Olive oil ½ can Rotel tomatoes (drained) ½ cup grated cheese (we like pepper jack)
Place block of cream cheese on oven proof plate. Combine dip mix with enough olive oil to make a paste. Spread paste on cream cheese. Top with Rotel tomatoes, then grated cheese. Heat in 350 degree oven just until warm and grated cheese melts. About 15 minutes. Cream cheese should still have its form. Serve with crackers or seasoned dehydrated bread cubes. Amazing!!!

We Are Adopting
Again!!!!
Fund Raising Raffle Win a $250 Gift Certificate to the Bread Beckers
We had the wonderful privilege of meeting a very precious young boy when we were in Latvia last year to adopt our son Raimonds. Raitis is 15 years old and so very much wants to live in a real family. Our hearts were so drawn to him.
We have started the process and should be leaving in May to get Raitis. Once again the expenses are quite extensive. Many of you gave so generously for our first adoption, we did not want to ask anyone to give again. This idea to have a raffle came from another family that is adopting. They were using a fund raising internet company. I thought of looking into it then the idea came to me to do it myself - why not offer something that would be a blessing to our customers?
We were trying to decide which major machine to raffle, when the thought came to just offer a gift certificate so that the winner could choose the item or items they wanted. So here it is:
$250 Gift Certificate to the Bread Beckers
