I don't know about you, but this coming Sunday feels like it's going to be one AMAZING, love-filled day to me. I'm really looking forward to speaking and singing about "Love: The Dynamics of Unity in Duality" as we celebrate Father's Day, the Summer Solstice (longest day of the year), and the Affirmation Ceremony (christening) for 8-month old Jaden Longoria (son of Danielle Kindred and Alfred Longoria) during our morning service. Plus, Zet and I will also be commemorating our 28th wedding anniversary. And then, that evening, we'll have the great pleasure of taking all that loving energy down into the Cave Without a Name, where I'll be presenting "Underground Sounds" - the Celebration Circle's seventh annual Summer Solstice Concert and Meditation, along with Paul Lewis (didgeridoo); Rene Ford (saxophone); Sarah Bading (vocals) and Carl Rush (percussion), as well as my sweet partner, Zet Baer, reading poetry. It's going be dee-licious!
I've had the good fortune of singing for a wide variety of audiences in many wonderful venues over the years, but I'm pretty sure that performing Solstice events in the Cave Without a Name is my all-time favorite. It's got the perfect blend of factors: the acoustics in that particular cavern are magnificent; the stalagmites/stalactites provide a breath-taking setting; the spiritual vibes of the cave - as well as the folks who are drawn attend -- are super-conducive to a powerfully focused experience; and the balancing energy of the Solstice provides a transformative dimension which allows this to be much more than "just another concert." It really is an ideal opportunity to re-focus on our/your dreams/visions of our Purpose and Possibilities. As Shakespeare said in A Mid-Summernight's Dream, "Whatever is dreamed on this night (Summer Solstice), will come to pass."
Yes, I know I'm gushing. But that's because I'm so excited and eager to share this richly textured day with you. I sure hope you can join us Sunday, whether in the morning, the evening, or both. It wouldn't be the same without you.
With love and blessings,
