Ask

Sheila is a good friend and long-time member of the Celebration Circle who moved out of state last year.  I saw her briefly over the Thanksgiving weekend; just long enough for a quick hug and a few words before she had to go off with her family.  Said she'd been wanting to call or e-mail me with some questions she's been wrestling with.  But she'd been reluctant, knowing of my on-going struggle to keep up communications with the many people seeking my input on things.  So she hadn't.

I smiled.  Admitted she was right.  Thanked her for her thoughtfulness.  And then said, "Please call or send your questions anyway.  It really doesn't matter whether I have any feedback or not.  What matters is your willingness to ask your questions.  Being able to focus and ask for support clearly and concisely virtually guarantees that you'll get the answer and/or support you need.  It may not come from me, and it could come when you least expect it.  It could come from your child, a neighbor or a total stranger.  From a dream or a phone call.  It's not your job to figure out who, how or where the response comes from.  Your task is simply to get clear on what you're asking - and then ask..."

Reflecting on this exchange afterwards, I realized I was really just talking to myself.  Inviting my Self to get clear.  Which I did.  Found it to be very helpful, too.  So now I'm inviting you to do the same.  Is there something important you've been meaning to ask?  Something you'd like to shine some light on in your life?  Feel free to ask me if you want. Perhaps even better, write your Self a letter, then put it away.  Or burn it.  Just turn your question(s) over to Spirit, without getting attached to who or where your get your answer from, much less when it arrives or how.  I'm pretty sure you'll find the support you seek.  This I believe:   "Ask, and you shall receive."

With blessings,
r sig Rudolf

Circle News

This is the final Sunday to help support Inner City Development's 2008 CHRISTMAS TOY SALE, which is an attempt to deal with the issue of trying to maintain dignity of families on limited income in an effort to help them get toys for their children at Christmas at a price that is affordable. Many times families will spend money to provide something special at Christmas and then need help to pay bills and buy food in January.  Inner City collects new toys (traditional and non-violent) for a sale that happens on December 14. We will collect toys on Sunday in the Circle and assure that they are delivered prior to the sale. The toys are priced at 10% of what they would cost in the store. The toy sale usually serves about 1400 children and the money raised goes back into emergency services. If you are interested in helping with this project, please call Patti Radle or Rosa Lopez at 224-7239.
