Off the Beaten Path

No by Maimuna GalganoWRC is proud to partner with the CDC's Global Health Odyssey Museum as they present Off the Beaten Path, running now through September 9th.  Off the Beaten Path presents the work of 28 contemporary artists from 24 countries whose work addresses the issues of violence against women and girls around the world and their basic human rights to a safe and secure life. The hope is that audiences leave the exhibition with a better understanding of the roots of abuse, a feeling of empathy, and an awareness of choice in their actions and beliefs. As part of the exhibit, WRC has been invited to produce a special presentation of our original play Snapshots, written by Patricia Henritze.  Look for an invitation soon.

Make the Pledge

Every year, WRC invites men to take a public stand against domestic violence by donating to our Father's Day Campaign.  At the conclusion of the campaign, we run an ad in the AJC that lists the men and women contributing under the heading "The men and women listed below proudly state that they will not tolerate domestic violence in their homes, businesses, or communities."  We know that, if influential men in their communities take a stand on an issue, other men listen.  Please help us thank the those who contributed this year.

Ensure Our Future

As you know, 2011 is WRC's 25th Anniversary.  We never wanted to reach this anniversary and we certainly don't want domestic violence to continue until our next.  For that reason, we challenged ourselves to imagine how 2036 would look if violence against women was a problem of the past and what it would take to get there.  Watch our video and post your comments on our Facebook page or tweet them!
