Magistrate Court will hire two Compliance Officers who will ensure that Protective Order respondents are held accountable for violating Orders, including not attending a family violence intervention program or not surrendering weapons to law enforcement.  This program will transfer the burden of ensuring safety and accountability from the victim onto the court itself.  WRC will work with victims to guide them through court processes and provide 24-hour safety planning and support. 

Funds for this program are provided by the federal Office on Violence Against Women, part of the US Department of Justice.

WRC could still use some help providing holiday gifts to the adult women staying in our safehouse.  While the children are playing with their new toys, we would also like to offer something to Mom to remind her that she's special.  Suggested donations include lotion, perfume, jewelry, makeup, hair products, mp3 players, new purses, non-violent books, bathrobes, new underwear and socks, photo albums or frames, chocolate and/or gift cards.
