Greetings!
Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence needs your help! Please choose one of the following ways to get involved. |
|
Donate Stuff Love baby showers? Host one for us! We have women in our safehouse all year long (and one right now) who are forced to leave all of their baby things behind. We need clothes (this one's a boy), strollers and car seats, bottles and formula, and anything that makes mom's life a little easier. Please call 404-688-9436 for our specific needs at a given time. Not baby-crazy? Hold a food drive! Our urgent needs include pasta, pasta sauce, rice, black beans, canned meat, mayonnaise, tuna helper, boxed mac and cheese, evaporated milk, and canned fruit. |

It will take men to end domestic violence.
For decades, WRC has worked tirelessly to provide services and support. We've educated courts, police, churches, and individuals, both young and old, but we still haven't brought an end to the violence. To do that, we need you. Men have influence over one another and hear each other in a way they may never hear us. In fact, a recent study found that men who batter assume that other men do, too. WRC knows that, though 95% of domestic violence is committed by men, the majority of men do not commit domestic violence. It is time for those men to speak up. On Father's Day, WRC will run our 9th annual ad in the AJC under the heading "It Takes a Man to End Domestic Violence. The men listed below are proud to state that they will not tolerate domestic violence in their community." This is a public opportunity for you to speak out or to honor a non-violent man in your life. Your minimum contribution of $100 can provide 24 hours of shelter for a woman and two children, but more than that, your participation will show those in Atlanta who do not respect their partners, who use violence to solve problems, and who teach their children that domination is love that they will be held accountable. Please call 404-370-7670 with your pledge no later June 4th. |
Give Us Some Time WRC still needs volunteers and interns this summer. Call Kim at 404-370-7670 or select "getting involved" on our website to learn more. |
