'Band Together' was founded by brothers Maximilian Hines and Clark Williams after years of witnessing first-hand the harm domestic violence brought to their loved ones. Clark and Max don't think they look like typical domestic violence advocates, but they are passionate about and dedicated to the cause of ending violence against women.
With 'band together', they hope to spread awareness while creating alliances of young people who work to end dating and domestic violence in their own communities. When you band together, you become part of a larger movement of youth and young adults dedicating themselves to peace in the home.
Proceeds from the purchase of the purple wristbands benefit Women's Resource Center to End Domestic Violence. Look for students already sporting them on the campuses of Morehouse, Spelman, and UGA.To purchase a band or learn more, visit them on the web. |
Birthday Gifts Enid Draluck, a long-time friend of Women's Resource Center, is celebrating her fabulous 50th this Friday, and has chosen to include WRC in her fun. She is holding her birthday tea at Nia's Place, our Supervised Visitation and Exchange Center, and in lieu of gifts, she asked her friends and family to consider monetary or in-kind gifts to Nia's Place. If you would like to join in Enid's birthday generosity, visit the Nia's Place website. Happy birthday Enid! |
