Circle of Friends Women's Resource Center has never had more reason to be grateful for our friends.
Last year, nonprofits around the country saw reductions in their government and corporate funding as the recession began to hit, and we were treated to doom and gloom forecasts about families having less money to donate to charity during the holidays. These forecasters must not know you!
In spite of the recession, you showed your resolve to end violence against women by more than doubling the amount donated to our annual campaign by individuals and community groups in 2008.
We are so grateful for the faith you have shown in us and in the women and families we serve, believing that together we can build a bridge from violence to safety. With such a supportive community behind us, we have no doubt that 2009 will be a year full of positive change for survivors of domestic violence in Atlanta. |
Cells for Survivors Did anyone in your family receive a new cell phone for Hanukkah or Christmas? If so, bring your old one to us! WRC will keep phones in good condition for women to use in emergencies, and will recycle the old phones for cash to fund our programs. You can also set up a deposit box at your place of worship, school, condo or apartment building, or place of business. All donations are tax-deductible. Call Amber at (404) 370-7670 for more information. |
