Mustaches for a Cause
Moustache CartoonDuring "Febru-hairy", sixteen Emory grad students launched a campaign against domestic violence by growing mustaches and raising money for Women's Resource Center.  Calling themselves the 'Candler Mustache Society' after the Candler school of Theology where they are enrolled, the participants decided to use their full new mustaches as conversation starters that could segue into talks about domestic violence.  The brainchild of first-year theology student Elizabeth Wilson, the group raised an amazing $830 for our cause and garnered a large amount of support and publicity on campus.  WRC is grateful to Elizabeth, to Craig Newman (who raised $170 on his own), and to all of the participants for speaking out against abuse.
