A Safe Haven for Kids
Women's Resource Center, in cooperation with DeKalb County, is excited to announce our receipt of a $200,000 federal grant to open a Supervised Visitation Center in DeKalb County. Families requiring visits between children and non-custodial parents to be supervised will be provided with a safe space for those visits to occur in an atmosphere that promotes and supports the bond between parent and child.
Such services are vital in relationships where violence has been present, because exchanging children is a prime opportunity for the batterer to continue harrassment of his former partner. Many abusers threaten to harm or kidnap the children during visitation. Services will be provided by referral from the DeKalb County Courts only, and are set to begin in January.

Season of Giving Each year during the holiday season, we ask our friends in the community to help keep our programs free for all survivors of domestic violence. As we begin to plan for 2008, we expect to serve more women and children than ever before, and we need your help to make that possible. As a friend of our agency, we know you believe as we do that families can build lives of safety and stability after violence. That's why we are asking you to contribute to our annual fundraising campaign by clicking the donate button to the left and making a tax-deductible credit card contribution. If you prefer, you can mail your donation to us at PO Box 171, Decatur, GA 30031. You can also visit "Donate Now" on our website to learn about other ways to donate through stock, trusts, insurance, etc.
Thank you for all of your support, and Happy Holidays! |
