        Women's Resource Center just completed
our first staff fundraising campaign with 100% of full-
time staff participating. Staff pledged $2,595 toward
our annual campaign, with salaried staff making an
average gift of $274. "I think that a staff campaign is
important," says Amber Harris, Development
Specialist. "It shows the community that we believe
so passionately in our work that we are willing to put
our own dollars behind it."

Cells for Survivors is a community-based cell phone
drive whose proceeds are used to assist women with
the expenses of starting a new home. Cells for
Survivors has already raised $5,000 toward its goal of
raising $15,000 by Domestic Violence Awareness
Month in October.

There are three ways that you can help: 1) organize a
cell phone drive at your place of business, recreation,
or worship; 2) donate unwanted cell phones and their
batteries; and/or 3) place a box for the collection of
phones in your place of business, recreation, or
worship.

To donate cell phones or to organize a drive, contact
Emily Rutledge at (404) 370-7670 or
wrcer@mindspring.com.
