Current Happenings at InterMotive
|
|
by Ed Prokopik
What's New....
InterMotive is proud to announce 5 new
Gateway
options that are now available in addition to the
current Gateway AI (fast idle / wheelchair lift interlock)
system. See our Sales Department article for further
information on these exciting new options. We also
have just introduced three new interlocks for the
Dodge Sprinter and are currently developing models
for Dodge Caravan and the Ford F-Superduty. Since
the new model year is just around the corner, we are
devoting a great deal of engineering resources to
updating all current models for the 2009 model
year.
What's Not New...
We are proud to be the largest wheelchair lift interlock
manufacturer in North America. All of our interlocks
are manufactured in the USA and InterMotive is
ISO9001:2000 certified. Several years ago, we
revolutionized the wheelchair lift interlock market by
introducing Plug and Play installation as well as an
LED system status display. Today we are leading the
way by offering five separate interlock families to suit
all levels of price and functionality. Within those five
families we stock over 50 active interlock part
numbers that cover vehicles from 1994-2008. If you
need a wheelchair lift interlock, the clear choice is
InterMotive.

New Gateway Options Available
|
|
We have started selling new versions of Gateway

capabilities of several of our other products into the
Gateway platform. This means one less module for
you to install when you need these other
technologies.
-DuraTrans

Another new Gateway platform
provides a Brake Transmission Shift
Interlock. This new feature adds a shift lock to
the GMT560 chassis
We have
also developed A decontented Gateway version that
provides a very basic high idle and lift interlock.
Finally, We have launched a version of
Gateway that
contains a "compatibility mode". Compatibility mode
allows Gateway to work with other products
connected to the
data link (OBD II).
Contact us to get more
information about Gateway DTAI, Gateway BMAI,

Quarterly "Tech-Tips"
|

By Rob Greene
Proper Use of a Relay
Here at InterMotive technical support, calls come
in on a regular basis from technicians all over
America and sometimes Canada. We spend hours
working through product installation, diagnosis and
answering random product questions. Often we find
that many technicians in the field misunderstand the
installation and function of a relay. With common use
in most vehicles, it is important to know some theory
behind the function and application of a relay. The
goal of this brief article is to explain how a relay works,
when to install a relay in a circuit and why you should
use a relay.

HawkEye Plus Sensitivity
The HawkEye plus Reverse Assistance System is
designed to provide a warning to assist the driver in
detecting large stationary objects when moving in
reverse at "parking speeds" of approximately 4 mph.
Each side of the display has illuminated bars, which
indicate the side and distance of the detected object.

A Message from the President
|
|
Exciting New Product
The concept was really quite simple. Produce a
robust, field-programmable device that increases
vehicle and public safety, reduces fuel consumption
and emissions, and allows fleet managers to take
back a bit of control of their fleet by limiting the
maximum allowable speed of their vehicles. While we
were at it, we wanted to make it inexpensive to
purchase, simple to install, and pack it with extra
features to make it highly useful and a great value for
our fleet customers. Sounded easy enough (add
laugh here).
