Current Happenings at InterMotive
|
|
by Ed Prokopik
InterMotive is proud to announce the addition of
Rob
Greene to our Technical Support Team.
Rob
is a
former Jaguar dealership technician.
He has a wide background from high-end dealerships
and specialized independent shops performing
repairs, and restoration of both new and old British
luxury cars. Rob has multiple car projects at home
including a 1964 Chevy II with a Cadillac NorthStar
engine. Rob is currently ASE master certified and
holds an Associates degree in Automotive Technology
and is finishing a Bachelors degree in Vocational
Education at Sacramento State University. In addition
to tech support, Rob will also be conducting training
courses through the InterMotive I/M Trained
Program.
On that note...
InterMotive is now offering both Automotive Basic
Electrical (IMT601) and Small Bus Basic Electrical
(IMT603) courses. These are intensive three day
workshops, utilizing lecture, lab, and hands on vehicle
diagnosis. The courses are designed for technicians
in the Mobility market that seek a better understanding
of vehicle electrical systems and how to properly
diagnose them. We have taught these courses for The
California Department of Transportation (CalTrans) as
well as The National Mobility Equipment Dealers
Association (NMEDA). For more information on these
courses, contact Dick Collier our Mobility Sales
Manager.

"Quarterly Tech-Tip"
|
|
by InterMotive
How Tight is Tight? Things you should know
about bolt torque
Bolt torque is a subject
that is often misunderstood or overlooked on basic
repairs.
An average technician will remove
and
reinstall thousands of fasteners during their career.
Loose or incorrectly, torqued fasteners are amongst
the most common reasons for a shop "comeback".

Message from the President
|
|
Greg Schafer
A New Year
Well, it's a new year. A
new year with new challenges, new opportunities and
new possibilities. Lots of exciting new things.
In the midst of all that's new, it's that which is "old" I
value the most. By old, I mean things that have been
around for awhile and have stood the test of time.
Things that have proven their value and are truly
invaluable. Things that have gotten us all to where
we're at and really define where we're headed... old
customers, old vendors and old friends.
