Changes to 2008 GM Products
Because of changes GM made to their 2008 GMT560
and 610 (G) vans, many of our Chevy lift interlock part
numbers will be changing for the new model year.
One of the changes allows our
GatewayAI, along with an ILIS activation kit, to
work on the Chevy 610 (G) van with a 6.0L gasoline
engine. The Gateway is both a high idle and a lift
interlock. This combination provides "plug &
play" installation and best of all, lower cost
to you.
Part numbers for the new
model year products can be found at

Need Vehicle Electrical
Training?
If your technicians need basic small bus electrical and
electronics training, then we have the right classes for
you. Our hands-on classes are designed to teach
bus dealer and transit property technicians the
fundamentals of chassis electrical and electronic
system diagnosis.
InterMotive has contracted
with the state of California
to teach these classes to contractors and transit
property technicians. In order to minimize the cost to
the attendees, CalACT is using RTAP funds to offset
some of the training expense.
If you would
like more information about how the
Small Bus Basic Electrical and Small Bus Basic
Electronics course can help improve your shop's
productivity, efficiency, and fix-it-right-the-first-time
performance, contact us at 530-346-1801.

Tools for Testing Electrical
Circuits
Choosing the right test equipment for testing electrical
circuits on today's vehicles has become a much more
complex decision than it was twenty, or even ten years
ago. Too often technicians make the decision of which
tool to use based on whatever tool they are most
comfortable using, or even the tool that was easiest to
get to in their toolbox. When we are talking about
testing basic electrical circuits (wiring and
connections) on modern vehicles, the decision of
which tool to use should be based upon the
characteristics of the circuit being tested. Three
important criteria to be considered are:

Technical Support for InterMotive

New Tracking system implemented for
InterMotive
Technical Support.
This past June, the InterMotive's Technical Support
Department implemented a new tracking software
called IssueTrak. From technical calls
to return
authorizations, we are able to track, resolve, and
report on the issues, resulting in improved efficiencies
and higher quality service.
When a customer calls in with a technical issue, they
will be asked a series of questions to identify the
problem they are experiencing. They will then be given
a "service queue" number. This number will be routed
to one of our technicians, who will review the concern,
and determine what the customer needs, in order to
get the vehicle on the road as quickly as
possible.
For more information about Issue Trak, go to www.issuetrak.com
**Our new expanded technical assistance hours
are Monday-Friday, 9:00am to 6:00pm

Fall Madness
Fall is in there air. The trees are turning color,
Baseball's pennant chase is in full swing (pardon the
pun) and footballs are flying all around. You've got to
love this time of year!
Unfortunately, with all this Fall-time fun comes the
challenges associated with new model chassis and
vans that are just coming on the scene. It's what we
affectionately refer to as "Fall Madness." OEM chassis
and vehicle changes are a challenge for everyone in
our industry, especially if the vehicle is "all-new"
or "updated" to meet market or regulatory demands.
We take every opportunity to attend OEM-sponsored
information meetings and measuring sessions, but
early information on certain changes is usually pretty
sparse or simply non-existent. That means we have to
react very quickly once production vehicles become
available in order to meet our customer's needs.
