What's New at InterMotive
|
|
By Ed Prokopik
ISO 9001:2000 Certification
We are
excited to announce that InterMotive has achieved ISO
9001:2000 certification effective April 11, 2007. The
certificate was issued by TUV Rheinland, an
internationally renowned ISO auditing firm. This
culminates over a year and a half of dedicated hard
work by the entire InterMotive team. We take
additional pride in the auditor having numerous
positive remarks in his registration document on
InterMotive processes that he felt were exemplary in
their design and execution.
While achieving the certification was a huge task,
equally important will be maintaining our processes
and adapting them to fit our customer's expectations
on a day to day basis. We are proud to join the select
group of suppliers in our industry that have also
achieved ISO 9001:2000 certification.

Need Vehicle Electrical
Training?
If your technicians need basic small bus electrical and
electronics training, then we have the right classes for
you. Our hands-on classes are designed to teach
bus dealer and transit property technicians the
fundamentals of chassis electrical and electronic
system diagnosis.
InterMotive has contracted
with the state of California
to teach these classes to contractors and transit
property technicians. In order to minimize the cost to
the attendees, CalACT is using RTAP funds to offset
some of the training expense.
If you would
like more information about how the
Small Bus Basic Electrical and Small Bus Basic
Electronics course can help improve your shop's
productivity, efficiency, and fix-it-right-the-first-time
performance, contact us at 530-346-1801.

Coolant Neglect is one of the Leading
Causes of Cooling System
Breakdown
The
subject of coolant service often comes up with the
change of seasons, whether it be in the cold of winter
or the heat of
summer. This happens to coincide with
manufacturers' recommendations that the engine
cooling system be checked every
six months. To keep cooling systems in adequate
operating condition, it is necessary to check the level,
strength and
condition of the coolant on a regular basis and to
replace or recycle the coolant before the protective
additives are completely
depleted.

Sprinter Interlocks
|
|
by Bruce Hodge, Technical Service & Support
Last year, InterMotive's engineers developed a
specific ILIS interlock for the 06 Sprinter that works
with the key "on", InterMotive P/N ILIS403D. Because of the changes to
the 2007 Sprinter, the ILIS interlock developed for the
06 model will not work on the 07 model. At the present
time, the Guardian and Guardian II
interlocks are the only solutions for the 07 Sprinter;
GRD401-AG & GRD402-A. The
Universal Guardian & Guardian II products require the
key to be in the "off" position for the lift to be
activated.
Engineering will be evaluating other
solutions for the 07/08 Sprinter in the near future.

InterMotive welcomes new Engineering Manager
InterMotive is pleased to announce Dan Mower as
Engineering Manager.
Dan joined
InterMotive this
past January and has recently joined our
management team. He comes to us with a strong
embedded systems design background of 30 years.
Dan also has had assignments in sales and
marketing, which gives him a unique perspective of
the end customer's needs and how to incorporate
them into our product design plans. He is a self
proclaimed "car guy" having successfully transplanted
a Honda VTEC engine into a 1962 Austin Mini. Dan's
next big project; identify and add additional
personnel to our growing engineering department.

Message from the President

Greg Schafer
Commitment
I'm not trying to get on my soap box, but it seems that
much of the business world is having a commitment
problem lately. I've spoken with several business
leaders and we all agree that this is becoming an
epidemic. We're either not willing to commit or we
think we're already overcommitted (or both!).
