INTERMOTIVE SIGNIFICANTLY INCREASES
PRODUCTION CAPABILITY
InterMotive is proud to announce the recent
acquisition of an Artos MTX-5 multi-task wire
processing machine. This advanced piece of
equipment can cut, strip, and crimp up to 4500 wires
per hour. The process is automated and has a crimp
force monitor that monitors every crimp and discards
any wires that do not meet the crimp force specs.
This machine will greatly increase wire processing
output while also ensuring quality of each and every
terminal crimp. Perhaps there is a custom harness
that we can build for you. Please contact our sales
department for a quote.

NEW PRODUCTS
Here
is a quick overview of our newest products and the
things you may need to know.
- Merlin
- Is a multiplex
system
designed for
the cutaway market, Merlin will increase your coach
diagnostic and customization capabilities and reduce
your wiring needs. So far, Champion, Glaval, and
Turtle Top have been certified to sell and install the
system. Call us and we will send you a DVD on Merlin
- DuraTrans, DT301-P2
-
InterMotive has engineered a new version of the
DuraTrans to work on the 2007 Ford
Econoline chassis. Part Number DT301-P2 is now
available. The DT301-P2 must be used in conjunction
with InterMotive's GatewayAI system to access the
required signals. The DT301P2
has the same performance characteristics as the
DT301P1.
- Intelligent Lift Interlock for
Sprinter
- We
now have P/N ILIS403D available for 06/07 Sprinter
Van. This wheelchair lift interlock works with the
ignition key "on". As with our other ILIS and Guardian
products, the vehicle must be in "park" and the park
brake must be set.
- GRDP10 Adapter
- A new adapter kit,
GRDP10, will soon be available for Guardian and
Guardian II interlock systems for the 2007 Econoline
with a Q transmission code. Until the GRDP10 is
available from production, we have created a
temporary solution – P/N GRDPT – to allow you to
continue on with production.

"Quarterly Tech-Tip"
|
|
By Grant Wolter
This quarter's Tech Tip; "Include Jumper Wires in
Your Collection of Test Tools."
I’ve touched on the use of several tools for
electrical/electronic system testing in previous
articles. These have included voltmeters, ammeters,
ohmmeters, and testlights. While these tools are
invaluable for performing measurements in the pursuit
of diagnosing an electrical or electronic problem, let’s
not discount the value of swapping out components
in a circuit with “known good components” to “see if
it works”. Many technicians stockpile commonly used
electrical and electronic components in their toolbox
for the purpose of temporarily replacing a component
to see if the circuit then works. This completely valid
diagnostic technique can be a valuable time saver.
Consider jumper wires as falling into
the category of “known good components” and use
them in the same manner as you would other test
components.

Message from the President....
|
|
|
I am very happy to announce that we have
formed a
partnership with the Placer County Office of
Education - workability program.
At InterMotive, offering employment to persons with
disabilities is a subject very close to our heart. It is
something we have supported in various ways
through the years, but are now able to support
directly within our company.
Our First employee working in this program is a
student from Placer High School who lives in Colfax.
He has several physical and cognitive issues, but is a
very capable, hard-working young man. He and his
full-time work coach started working in the
Production department in December and we are
delighted with his work and his determination to "get
it right".
We are very pleased to be able to formulate and
begin this partnership. We plan on getting the
program firmly in place and hope to expand it to
include more people in the near future.
