Greetings!
Oprah had Dr. Berman on her show today and they did a whole entire hour about women's orgasms and sexual dysfunction! I WAS SO INSPIRED I watched it twice and was so excited to write this newsletter in case you did not see the episode! I love and respect Oprah, but I am not normally an Oprah zealot like some of you. Today I am convert! She and Dr. Berman did alot to help alot of women out there.
They followed a couple through Sex Therapy and this amazingly brave couple allowed themselves to be recorded while they were in therapy talking through their issues. (They are married 19 years and having very little sex. It's amazing how common this is amongst long term couples.)
They gave a few tips I will share in this newsletter, too! All the credit goes to Oprah and Dr. Berman, though. I am just repeating it here!
Oprah and Dr. Berman discussed our anatomy and explained to women that we do not pee from our clitoris. (I thought only men still thought this. One word people - GOOGLE!) They explained that our clitoris was designed to ONLY give us pleasure and has no other functionality. They also explained my favorite piece of trivia- women have 8,000 nerve endings in our clitoris. Men only have 4,000 in their entire penis. WE GET DOUBLE the NERVE ENDINGS!
They gave women permission to try a vibrator and disussed how peri-menopause starts in our late 30's and 40's and can help to diminish a woman's libido. They gave an explanation to the "domination" fantasy alot of women have (like 60% of women fantasize about surrendering) and why so many of us have that fantasy. They talked about what happens to the testosterone leveles and how to have G SPOT orgasm!

They covered alot in this one hour and I hope there will be a follow up to the episode. They echoed something I have said about 1,000,000 times to women who are shy about vibrators - IT WILL CHNGE YOUR LIFE if you have never had one. (Start small with
Silver Bullet. It's $15 and nice and discreet and very un-assuming.) Sometimes, especially after menopause, it can help you rediscover that your mojo is still alive and well! Sometimes it just takes one fun session to get it all going again. The woman on the Oprah episode was proof of that! Read my article on
"13 Ways to Use the Silver Bullet."
Did you see the episode? I would love to get your feedback and tell me which parts of the episode resonated with you. (I will post this on my blog so you can comment easily there.)
