Stay In A Resort
Splurge and stay in a resort for a couple days enjoying a frozen drink and appetizer at the pool, a round of golf on some excellent resort courses, a jet ski ride on the lake, or a few hours floating down a lazy river. Here is a link to our Resort Reviews where you can lean more about some of our favorites:
- for golf try La Cantera or the JW Marriott in San Antonio or Lajitas Golf Resort
in Big Bend territory - for resorts on a lake book a stay at The Cliffs on Possum Kingdom, White Bluff on Lake Whitney, La Torretta on Lake Conroe, or Cypress Bend on Toledo Bend
- for the best lazy rivers try the Hyatt Hill Country or the JW Marriott in San Antonio or the Hyatt Lost Pines in Bastrop
- for hiking, lake access, kayaking, stargazing, and more book a room at Canyon of the Eagles
If you're headed out of state and looking for a great resort, here is a link to our Out of State Resort Reviews on some spectatular resorts in California, Florida, New Mexico, Arizona, and Louisiana. |

Try A New & Cool Adventure
Get out of your rut this summer and stay cool by trying something new and exciting like:
- enjoy the breeze as you zip across canyons and inlets and ride the longest
zipline in Texas at Lake Travis ZipLine or enjoy any of the other Texas ziplines or challenge/ropes courses - spend time in one of the many Texas Caves where it's a constant 72 degrees and don't take just the standard tour, try one of the adventure tours to get your adreniline going
- go airborne in search of cooler air - try parasailing, sky diving, para gliding, soaring, flying, hot air ballooning, or hang gliding
- try sailing off into the sunset on the bay, lakes, or into the Gulf of Mexico - charter a sailboat for a day sail, romantic sunset cruise, or take a lesson and learn how to sail
If you're into adverntures and adventure blogging, according to Outside Magaazine the two best adventure blogs are Adventure Journal and The Goat (witty, irreverant, and sharp outdoor commentary in a paragraph or so) -- check them out and add some new adventues to your bucket list. |
