Hooray! Today is officially the last day of Winter! Spring has sprung, so break out the gear and get ready for some kayaking, climbing, biking, camping, golfing, tubing, outdoor music events, and all that other fun stuff we love to do in Texas.
This newsletter will focus on some new discoveries that we enjoyed this winter and we think that you'll also like them.

Let's Go Camping!
We found a couple of new RV Resorts at each end of Texas that made our Favorite Campgrounds & RV Parks List - one in Canton and one in Port Aransas.
Mill Creek Ranch RV & Cottage Resort in Canton is still under construction but currently has spacious RV sites, a great pool, trails, and ponds. They will be selling as well as renting cabins, opening a new lodge, and adding a lot more amenities over the summer. It is a great family RV Resort plus they are close to First Monday Trade Days, Splashtown, and some excellent golf courses. Click here to learn more.
At the other end of the Lone Star State just west of the fun town of Port Aransas is another new premier RV resort - Gulf Waters Beach Front RV Resort. This beautifully landscaped new RV resort has extra wide sites around ponds that are for sale or rent. You have easy access to 600 feet of sandy beach on the Gulf and are only five minutes from Port A for fishing, birdwatching, kitesurfing, good restaurants, and fun night life. Check them out. |

If you don't feel like camping, then you need to book a room at Gruene Mansion Inn and Wildcatter Ranch Resort & Spa some time this year.
If you like tubing the Guadalupe, listening to some excellent Texas country music at the oldest dance hall in Texas, antique shopping, and some good restaurants, then you'll find all of that within a couple blocks of Gruene Mansion Inn. This 30 room B&B has unique rooms, an excellent breakfast, and friendly service. Read about our weekend in Gruene.
We spent a couple very fun days at Wildcatter Ranch Resort & Spa which is west of Fort Worth and close to Possum Kingdom Lake. Wildcatter has rooms with upscale western decor and panoramic views of the hills and countryside, lots of outdoor activities (archery, skeet shooting, canoeing, fishing, trail rides, disc golf, volleyball, and more), a Spa to work out the kinks from all the outdoor activities, a fabulous pool, and the best steak house in Texas! Grab The Sticks & Let's Go Golfing!
Braving the wind, rain, and cold weather (someone has to do it!) we were able to play a lot of fun and outstanding golf courses over the last few months. You will find our reviews of the courses on the Golf Course Reviews Page and here are a few of the favorites that we played over the winter and you need to add to your list to play: Split Rail (Aledo, rated 8.7 stars), Blackhorse South Course(8.3 stars, Cypress), Lantana (8.3 stars, Lantana), Golf Club at Frisco Lakes (Frisco, 8.7 stars), and Legacy Ridge (8.3 stars, Bonham).
If you like Stay & Plays, we found three new ones - Rayburn Country, Crown Colony and Garden Valley. Each of these courses have good accommodations at fair prices and excellent golf courses. You can read our review of the lodging, the courses, and other fun things to do on our Stay & Play Reviews Page.
Good News! Horseshoe Bay has a fantastic Stay & Play package running until the 29th of May that includes unlimited golf on three of the best courses in Texas, deluxe room, breakfast, and shuttle service to the courses. Click here to read a review of the Ram Rock Course.
