Greetings!

As gas prices continue to rise with no end in sight, the need to improve our mass transit network is critical to the continued success of Silver Spring and Montgomery County.  The Purple Line will give existing and new transit riders on Ride On, MARC, and Metro better and faster service options.

As the cost of living rises and our roads become more congested, we must re-commit ourselves to environmentally sensitive transportation solutions.

The MTA estimates that a light rail Purple Line will carry 68,000 riders per day and eliminate more than 5,700 car trips from Silver Spring roads.  Below is the latest project timeline and travel times from the Maryland Transit Administration and links to last week's articles.
