Park Hills and Seven-Oaks Evanswood Vote MTA to return in April
On February 28, members of the Park Hills and Seven-Oaks Civic Associations meeting cast their votes on the Purple Line design options. While nearly all supported the project, many believed that an underground alignment would better serve the community, while some felt that an at-grade alignment with proper mitigation could achieve the same goals.
The MTA has informed me that the analysis of underground options requested by neighborhood representatives and myself has been completed. The MTA has also refined the renderings and traffic modeling of the at-grade alignment option for Wayne Avenue. A community focus group will be held in April to review their findings. |

Have you driven on Wayne Avenue lately? Through my work with MCPS and the Board of Education, the boarded up windows have been replaced.
In addition, the Board has recommended $25,000 to begin facility planning towards re-opening of the Old Blair Auditorium. If approved by the Council, my office, Old Blair Inc. and MCPS will convene meetings this summer to begin the process.

| Speed Cameras
Dale Drive to receive mobile units.
Last October I made a request to Chief Manger that he consider installing speed cameras along Dale Drive to reduce speeds through our neighborhood. I am happy to report that an analysis has been conducted and the Speed Camera Committee approved the placement of mobile speed vans along Dale Drive between Piney Branch Road and Georgia Avenue. Locations are being tested and finalized this spring.
