Guide Girls in Making Their Own Cosmetics
Waltham, March 17
Girl Scouts in grades 6-8 are going to learn about the chemistry and science of making their own cosmetics! They will be making hand lotion, lip gloss, and shampoo and need volunteers to help them do it. A female engineer will speak about careers in science, someone from Girl Scouts will present on "Cosmetic Chemistry", and volunteers will assist with running one of the cosmetic activity stations, as well as help to set-up and break-down the event. The activity and materials will be provided and the volunteers will help to guide the girls at the station. Each station will have about 20 girls. No prior experience in science needed, but enthusiasm and excitement to work with girls required! This opportunity takes place on March 17 from 4:15-8:00 pm. Have a
passion for running/walking or healthy living?
Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts has launched a health and wellness program
for middle school girls to build their confidence and leadership skills while
participating in a recreational running program and we need volunteers to help
run it! Volunteers are needed to help facilitate activities from a curriculum,
including going out on the trails to stretch and run with the girls, as well as
help to recruit more girls to join. The spring session will run for 8-10 weeks,
from about mid-April to mid-June. The days and times of the program will depend
on the availability of volunteers, but meetings will be weekly for 1.5-2 hours.
The program will conclude with participating in a 5k race. We are looking for
volunteers for potential sites in: Cambridge, Newton, Brookline/West Roxbury, Melrose,
Quincy and Lowell.

Ride Bikes with Girl Scouts!
Brewster, April 5-May 23
Biking Bears is a new fun and exciting Girl Scout program that is debuting this spring and we need bike enthusiasts to help run it! Girls in grades 6-8 will ride bikes together on the Cape Cod Rail Trail, learn about bike safety and maintenance, and complete a community service project. Volunteers should have biking and bike maintenance experience, and a working bicycle, as well as enthusiasm to teach the girls what a great exercise and mode of transportation biking can be. This opportunity will take place each Monday from 5-6:30pm from April 5-May 17 (6 weeks, exclude April 19) and end with a longer weekend biking trip on May 21-23. The program will take place at Camp Favorite, which is located in Brewster, MA. Volunteers will need to complete on-line training, as well as meet and coordinate with staff. Prepare Meals for Girl Scouts doing Community Service

Have
experience cooking for large groups or running an industrial dishwasher? We
need your help! Girl Scouts (grades 4-12) will be completing a weekend of
community service at Girl Scout camps doing activities such as putting up tents
for the season, trail maintenance, and more. We need volunteers to help prepare
meals to thank the girls for their service! This opportunity takes places in Plymouth, from 2p-10a on
April 17-18. No in-person meeting required ahead of time, but will be oriented

Get Outdoors for Summer Camp in April!
Brewster, Plymouth, Waltham, April 20-23
Girl Scouts (grades 1-6) will be able to attend day camp during April vacation week and we need volunteers to make it happen! Each day will have themes and pre-planned activities such as crafts, games, songs, outdoor activities, and much more! Volunteers are needed to lead a pre-designed activity/workshop, chaperone a group of girls as they travel to activities, or create and share your own special activity/workshop. Bonus: Volunteers may bring their daughter to attend the camp at no cost on the day(s) they volunteer. Come have fun volunteering with girls for one day or all four! An orientation/meeting will be required before the program. Previous experience working with girls, especially in a camp setting, desired but not required. Volunteers are needed at our camps in Waltham and Plymouth on April 20-23 and in Brewster on April 20 & 21, from 8:30-4:15p each day - come for one day or all of them! Have Fun Leading Activities for First Time Campers

Young Girl Scout campers (grades K-5) and their favorite female adult will be having a fun day and night at Girl Scout camp. Help them experience the joy of camp for the first time! Volunteers are needed to facilitate activities such as Croquet, Crafts, Card Games, Scavenger Hunt, Boating, and Cookie Decorating. Besides boating, no prior training is required - but enthusiasm needed! We will work with you to design the activity, which groups will rotate through. This opportunity takes place in Plymouth on May 1 and/or May 8 from 10a-6p - volunteer for one day or both! Lead Activities at Teen Get-Away Weekend
Lip Sync, Boating, Gardening, GPS, Cooking, Dance
Pelham, NH, May 15
Teens growing up today face an incredible amount of stress and pressure so Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts is having a getaway weekend for them! Girl Scouts (grades 6-12) will be enjoying a weekend camping event with the opportunity to select workshops and fun activities. Volunteers are needed to help run these fun workshops, including: Team Lip Sync, Beyond Boating Basics, Zen Gardening, GPS, Cooking, and Dance. Each workshop will have up to 25 girls and run for 4 sessions that are each 1.5 hours long. Basic knowledge of subject and willingness to share your passion with teen girls required. This opportunity takes place in Pelham, NH on May 15 from 8:45a-4:45p. No in-person meeting required ahead of time, but will be oriented over the phone. Explore the Outdoors with Girl Scouts
Challenge Course, Climbing Wall, Games, Kayaking, Archery, Crafts, Life Guards

Junior Girl Scouts (grades 4-5) from all across eastern Massachusetts will be camping together for a fun weekend of adventure! Volunteers are needed to facilitate the Challenge Course, Climbing Wall, Games, Kayaking, Archery, and Crafts. Lifeguards are also needed. Training is available and required for all workshops, except Crafts and Games, which do not require any training. Volunteer on May 22 or June 5 (or both) at our Girl Scout Camp in Plymouth. The FaB Factor is a program run by Girl Scouts of Eastern Massachusetts in local schools and community locations. The mission of the program is to build the courage, confidence, and character of the girls and is based on four themes: financial literacy, health and fitness, leadership, and math/science/technology. We are looking for volunteers who enjoy working with girls and would like to share their expertise by helping to plan or facilitate workshops on the following topics: Science, Technology, Engineering and Math; Finance and Business; Fitness, Nutrition, Hygiene, Self-Esteem, Self-Care; Leadership, team building, careers. The time commitment is flexible - serve as a guest speaker at one program when you are available or travel to help at several programs. Join our bank of volunteers to call on when these opportunities arise. Girl Scout Research Dept. - Data Entry

The Girl Scout Research Department tracks the impact that Girl Scouting has on girls who participate through various qualitative and quantitative studies. Volunteers are needed to help with data entry; volunteers should be familiar with Microsoft Excel. Help out for a couple of days with what works best for your schedule -anytime Monday-Friday from 10a-4p. There may be the opportunity to come in regularly over the coming month but only a few hours are needed at this time.
