Happy New Year! 2010 is the Year of the
Tiger!
| THE NEW GENERATION: Ikkyu Logan McIntyre |
 |
|
The inspiration and first recipient of
MADLEAPS is 11 yr old, ikkyu, Logan McIntyre
who was nominated to the National Youth
Leadership Conference in Washington.
After
submitting an essay describing the strong
role that martial arts has played in the
development of his character, he was selected
to represent his school at the conference
this spring. He is not only the youngest
person to be accepted from his middle/high
school, he was the only one!
The
following
are excerpts from Logan's essay:
"As you
go on in the many levels in karate,
the things that you thought were hard become
easier, because you learn to have a stronger
mind and can meet the mental and physical
challenges..." and "I think that karate has
been very good for me and is why I am doing
well in school....I have learned to stay
focused in class...and I like to be a role
model for other kids by leading by example."
We at SFMAI are very proud of all of the kids
in the WK Karate program and grateful for the
support and loyalty of their families. These
kids are the future of our dojo and the world!
