Welcome to our October newsletter!
We have a couple of extra events coming up at the Iyengar Yoga Centre, and both of them are free.
Iyengar students Lydia Tsang and Angela Tam were recently interviewed by the South China Morning Post about a project called "Compact Hong Kong". They are inviting us to join them in exploring ways to simplify our lives. They ask: "Would you like to live a happier life, content with what you have, and help save the planet at the same time? We can do much more than say no to plastic bags, and be the happier for it, by being more aware of what we buy and use."
Come join us for a discussion about how we can simplify our lives and abide in true freedom. This discussion will follow "The Anatomy of the Shoulder Workshop" on Sunday, October 7 at 5:15 - 6:15pm.
The second event is about Mr. Iyengar: Many of you saw the CNN interview with B.K.S. Iyengar last weekend on "Talk Asia". It was a good opportunity to get a look at yoga in action at The Ramamani Iyengar Yoga Memorial Institute in India, and to listen to the words of Mr. Iyengar himself. If you missed the program, you can see it at The Iyengar Yoga Centre of Hong Kong on Sunday, November 4, from 3:30 - 4:00pm, just after the "Inspirations from India" workshop that is being taught by Jesse Tong.
You are welcome to invite friends to these events, even if they aren't students of yoga.
I hope to see you there!

Words of Wisdom |
|
Guruji BKS Iyengar |
|
"The person who practises yoga regularly will become a master of circumstances as well as the master of time. Yoga is the golden key that unlocks the door of peace, tranquility and joy which have no limitations, frontiers or boundaries. He loves to live, lives to serve, and serves the world with beauty and grandeur. This is the essence of life. Peace within and peace without. Peace in the individual, in family, in society and in the world at large."
