Linda ShevloffWelcome to our September newsletter!

September marks the beginning of the new yoga season at The Iyengar Yoga Centre of Hong Kong. There will be a larger range of classes
available, a new on-line registration system, and a new face at the
front desk. Wendy Wong is joining us as an administrative assistant. She
will be helping with registrations, communication and promotions.

A new wave of teacher trainees will begin their study program. One of our studio's features is that long -time, experienced students have the opportunity to learn how to teach Iyengar yoga. We are the only accredited Iyengar studio in Asia, and ours is the
only training program in Asia that leads to full Iyengar certification.

A new Beginners class on Sunday mornings will give student teachers a chance to practice their teaching skills, at only half price for participants. If you have friends or family members who have no yoga experience, they might like to try this inexpensive Sunday morning class.

The yoga centre has become a place where a community of students is evolving together. I am very grateful for the commitment and support that you bring.

Many, many thanks!

  • Lydia Tsang for putting together the September edition of Svadhyaya, our studio newsletter. The new edition is on our website's  news page  and will be available in paper form early this month.
  • Nancy Lai for volunteering to be the librarian of our lending library. We are taking donations of yoga books, if you have a book or two to share, we would love to have them on our bookshelf.
  •  Angela Tam for setting up an on-line forum where students can join a discussion on aspects of yoga (see details below).
  • To all the teachers at the centre who are all committed to high quality teaching. Every one of our teachers is also a student who continues to learn and develop skills and understanding.
  • To the students who attend classes and support the centre by their presence.
Most of all, I am grateful to my guru, B.K.S. Iyengar, for the inspiration of his life and work. We are blessed with an abundance of good will.

Namaste,
Linda
