HPFI® (High Point Furniture Industries) along with Momentum Group, hosted an IIDA "Shoe Cutting Party" on May 3rd, 2012. From 6:00 to 8:00 pm, the International Interior Design Association's TriadCityCenter and HPFI associates cut and assembled kits to make children's shoes from Momentum fabrics in the HPFI showroom for Sole Hope of Asheville, NC.
Sole Hope is a group of passionate, committed people who are putting closed toed shoes on African children, one pair at a time. According to Sara Lynn Miller, "It all started with a chance encounter with a video that broke our hearts, took us WAY out of our comfort zones, and led us to Uganda and Zambia." Their mission is to provide HOPE to widows, orphans and others within impoverished and forgotten communities around the world by teaching the simple trade of shoe making which provides jobs and shoes for those in need.
