Greetings!

Since news travels quickly these days, we wanted to share with you accurately what occured at our chair plant around 8:15 am today, Monday, April 12, 2010.

HPFI® (High Point Furniture Industries) experienced a minor fire this morning in the finishing department of the chair manufacturing facility.  The alarm and automated sprinkler systems were activated and employees in the chair plant and adjoining corporate office were evacuated.  Thanks to the rapid response of employees and the High Point, NC fire department, no significant damage or injuries were sustained.

The fire and subsequent water damage was limited to the finishing booth area.  The only material inventory affected were those components within the finishing area.  Since there are multiple finishing booths and back up equipment, the impact of the damages should be minimal.  HPFI should be back on a normal production schedule by the end of this week.
HPFI operates in two manufacturing facilities in High Point, North Carolina with over 440,000 square feet of manufacturing space.  With roots in High Point, the furniture capital of the world, HPFI combines the skill and expertise of seasoned furniture craftspeople with modern day technology to deliver exceptional value to its customers.
