Not Just Another Day In Court
In Forsyth County, Georgia not far off exit 15 off Interstate 400 stands what was once a hotel and has since been converted into the Forsyth County Juvenile Court. Cases that process through this Courthouse range anywhere from child custody hearings to juvenile disciplinary cases. These cases typically involve children from birth through 18 years of age. The building is not your typical Courthouse, then again neither is the staff nor the philosophy that prevails within this Court.
This is a story about a Judge, his staff, a UPS employee along with her husband from Liberty Mutual and a passion they shared for helping others. It's about people who when asked would deny being a hero yet truly exemplify what a hero is.
The United Way Connection
The story began as UPS Supply Chain Solutions was preparing for the September 11th United Way Day of Caring in Forsyth County. Michelle Prater, Forsyth United Way Director of Resource Development, asked if UPS Supply Chain had anyone that could paint a mural on a wall for the Juvenile court house in Forsyth as part of their day of caring. United Way of Forsyth County supports the Truancy Court Program through the Forsyth County Juvenile Court System.
