| Secretory IgA (sIgA) |
Learn the causes and treatments for low sIgA
Mucosal surfaces, such as those of the eyes, nose, throat and GI tract, represent a large port of entry for pathogens and thus must be effectively protected. This is achieved by a combination of innate and acquired immunoactivity. Acquired immunity includes the production of antibodies with the primary antibody response at the muscosal level being secretory IgA (sIgA). More on sIgA

Vitamin D: The Sunshine Vitamin
Vitamin D is important for healthy bones but it is also necessary for maintaining a healthy immune system. New research is showing that low vitamin D levels may be related to higher rates of cardiovascular disease, asthma, cancers, allergies, autoimmune diseases and both type 1 and 2 diabetes. Sun exposure is how most people get the bulk of their Vitamin D requirement, though many factors may interfere with adequate absorption and supplements may be required.
