Greetings!

April is Autism Awareness Month and Metametrix is proud to support some great organizations, such as DAN! and Autism One in the fight against such an epidemic disease. We have worked hard to identify certain laboratory testing profiles that can benefit Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) patients in forming custom treatment plans. This month we have a new profile to add to that group - the Neopterin/Biopterin Profile! We have also provided an in depth case analysis showcasing the ION profile and have an Autism One radio interview on the GI Effects Stool Profile. For more understanding of how you can use functional testing with ASD patients, check out our new patient brochures or visit www.metametrix.com
A Case Study on Autism Spectrum Disorder
ION logoFor more background on laboratory testing with ASD patients, click on the summary paper of common functional marker imbalances. Then read a case study that utilizes the Metametrix ION profile on an autistic child with initial test results and follow-up results. Two important points about the usefulness of laboratory data for monitoring autistic patients is illustrated. Firstly, the patterns of multiple markers clearly indicate areas needing focused nutrient interventions. Secondly, the changes show how weak metabolic areas can become points of focus when new challenges appear. Thus, the ability to meet demands of specific metabolic stressors can be assessed and corrected.

Introducing the Metametrix Neopterin/Biopterin Profile!
Neopterin Biopterin logoSensitive Measures of Inflammation
These sensitive markers of inflammation allow detection and monitoring of inflammatory processes. The origin of the inflammation may be the small intestinal pathology that so often requires treatment in children with autistic spectrum disorders. It may also be associated with cardiovascular disease or autoimmune disorders like rheumatoid arthritis and systemic lupus erythematosus. Read more about neopterin and biopterin in the White Paper or in our Testing Overview links below!
