Greetings!
Welcome to Spring! For March we have put together a specimen guide for Element Testing and an updated version of the Porphyrins White Paper, excerpted from the upcoming Laboratory Evaluations for Integrative and Functional Medicine! Speaking of the long awaited book, it is now in the final stages of production! We appreciate your patience and expect all pre-orders to be shipped by mid May. Finally, mentioned last month, we would like to reemphasize our new patient support and clinician referral program, so read more about it below! |
| Choosing the Best Specimen for Elements Testing |
There is no single best specimen for simultaneous, optimal status assessment of essential elements and toxic heavy metals. For each element there are merits and limitations of the specimens commonly tested. Since each essential element functions synergistically with other elements and nutrients, multi-element profiles coupled with functional biomarkers can provide the best insight into abnormalities in mobilization, utilization and excretion. This article explains which specimen (blood, hair or urine) to use for common element testing. Additionally, learn more about Chelation Challenge (Provocation) Tests and Urinary Porphyrin Profiling!

| Clinician Referral and Patient Support Program |
As you may have read last month, Metametrix has established a dedicated Consumer/Client Sales Liaison, Stephanie Wickham, who works full time at matching clinicians and patients. The program has been a great success in helping our clinicians build their practice and assisting patients looking for the right healthcare practitioner in their area to meet their needs. As we continue to grow this program, we are trying to learn more about our clinicians interested in referrals so we can better understand their practice and specialty area. So, please take a few minutes to give Stephanie a call or send her an email. And again, if you are a patient looking for a healthcare provider in your area, give Stephanie a call and she will do what she can to answer your questions and find you the best fit!
