Area IV's 2011 Season
The good news is that we will have no less than four new HTs and two new venues in 2011. Both new venues will be in the Twin Cities area, west of Minneapolis. Roebke's Run will hold two HTs in Hector, MN, one in mid-July and one in October. These should be a couple of great events organized by that well-known eventing family, the Schweiss. The other "new" event is Steepleview. The venue is new but many of the organizers and even some of the jumps will be familiar as they take over from Trott Brook, which provided a much-loved day out for many years. There is also the possibility of yet another event in the Minneapolis area. The Eventing group of the Central States Dressage & Eventing Association (CSDEA) is in negotiations to hold a CT in conjunction with their Recognized dressage show in July.

Established Area IV venues are not being left behind. Fox River Valley will hold a CIC* in 2011 while Intermediate riders will have three HTs to compete in at Otter Creek this year. Otter Creek will also hold the Area IV Championships this year. Wayne DuPage will run only one HT this year but will also host a clinic by one of the foremost Cross country instructors in the world, Lucinda Green.

In the southern part of our Area, MACTA will celebrate the complete reconstruction of the water complex at Heritage Park with both a Novice and a Training Three Day event. Longview Horse Park will see the first joint USPC Eventing Rally for many years when both Mid-West and Cimarron Regions get together. Further south again, Briar Fox Farm will be holding a series of eventing clinics including a schooling T3D. They will also be part of the Greater Wichita Area Championships (GWAC) of schooling CTs & HTs in conjunction with the Eventing group of the Kansas Dressage & Eventing Association (KDEA).

Finally one of the first events of our 2011 season will be an enjoyable look back at 2010. Our Area IV Annual Meeting and Awards Banquet will be held in Saint Charles, Illinois on Saturday, March 19th. We hope to see you there!
