Area IV Riders Rock the AECs
Numerous competitors for Area IV made the long sojourn to the gorgeous Chattahoochee Hills near Fairburn, Georgia for the 2010 American Eventing Championships.

Dressage was split over two days for the 6 levels and they ran 6 rings each day with 1 large warm-up ring dedicated to each 3 show rings. The warm-up rings were restricted to those who were competing that day. They also provided a large flat, grassy acreage for schooling horses who were not competing each day.

The cross-country courses were of Championship quality asking questions of each level including offset coops for Novice and turning questions at Beginner Novice as well as a drop bank to offset skinny houses at Training. The courses provided several natural gallopy fences intermingled with technical elements. No Disney-land here!

Show jumping was held over two days and split into 2 large rings with large warm-ups dedicated to each of the arenas. Warm-up was limited to the 10 horses who would be next in each ring. The courses were forward riding but provided quite a challenge at all levels; rails dropped frequently and double clear rounds were few and far between.

The 2010 American Eventing Championships at Chattahoochee Hills was quite a spectacular presentation of organization, course design and high quality competition.

Area IV riders placed well at all levels! Check out some of our top finishers:

-Becky Holder & Courageous Comet: 1st Advanced
Becky Holder was also 4th & 6th in Intermediate
-Jamie Price & Overdraft: 6th Preliminary Horse
