The Season Begins
| Despite the long, cold
Winter and the Spring snow, we're finally going to start the Eventing season in
Area IV. For some of our riders,
competitions have hardly ceased since last year with events in Florida &
Texas already bringing success - one in particular being Callie Judy, who's in
the top 50 overall in the country!
For the vast majority
of our eventers, the upcoming Mill Creek Pony Club Horse Trial at Longview will
be the first outing this year. MCPC has
been working hard to provide a great start to our local season in what has to
be one of the most scenic venues around. If you're not competing, consider volunteering and share in the fun.
We have some new items this
season. In June the Adult Riders will
hold their camp at Briar Fox Farm in Augusta, Kansas. This will feature two days of dressage
tuition from an "r" judge, Bonnie Griest, followed by stadium &
cross-country with ICP level III Instructor, John Staples. The camp is open to all Area IV riders but
you'll get a substantial discount if you're an Adult Rider or Young Rider. If you're not sure you want to ride in the
camp, auditing will be free.
Young Riders will have
the choice of a series of clinics in both the Chicago area and in
Wisconsin. Again, these will also be
open to all riders but you'll get a discount if you're either a YR or AR.
Best wishes for a
successful season in 2010,
See you at Longview,
John Clarke
